CCP is now putting irl financial details within the API so alliance leaders will know when an account is paid until, how it is paid, the account name and even the real life name of the account owner.

To clarify this point, here's what we put in the API in regards to your account:
- When your account is paid until
- What date and time the account was created
- How many times you've logged in
- How many minutes you've been logged in

What it does NOT show is:
- How it is paid
- The real name of the owner
- Your personal information
- Anything that might compromise your identity

Besides this, with the customizable API key system, you can create a key that contains exactly the information you want to give away. If you do not want somebody to know how long your account is paid for, you can choose not to give them access to that information.

Sorry, you're with like-minded. There's nothing to be ashamed of. We're all in the same boat. Oops

So I take it you've never met the little man in the boat either then?

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

0.0 alliances have long been demanding full access to their member's in game accounts

Account sharing is against the EULA. If your alliance leader is demanding full access to your account, then you can probably report them and get them permanently banned.

But you probably weren't talking about full account access. You were probably talking about them demanding full API access instead, which is hardly the same thing. This is likely to prevent espionage, as they can find out which members are "real" through the amount of assets they have, or by how often they log in.

If you don't want to give away a full API key to your alliance, then join a different corp. There are plenty out there which only demand a limited API. Granted, that corporation may be less prestigious and less competent but that's the tradeoff.

How, exactly, is he evading the question?

You customize it to reveal what you wish, and the more personal information isn't even an option to begin with.

Hysteria, while amusing, merely shows how easily many members of the EVE community can be paniced by our local forum trolls. Big smile
