Question about Cynos and Sec. Status

Hi,

So I'm a pilgrim pilot, and I know one day I will likely be dropping Cynos for some corp. I am flying to Jita to fit a ship to do some ratting, and im super bored, and I got to thinking.

Would it be possible to get a 10.00 Sec status, and still drop Cynos on people? If I didn't shoot them, I wouldn't lose Sec status correct? So I can still assist in the killing of people without actually killing them?

Also, when you drop a cyno, do you have to uncloak? Will the enemy know the cyno is there Will the enemy know you're there?

so i just learned that after you drop a cyno ur dead basicly anyway... so i geuss this sint something you do on a main..

You can not activate any kind of a cyno in highsec space, regardless of your security status.

Unfortunately the devs decided that opening a cyno is the same as going afk 10mins, so ppl dont do it on their main character.

Anyone lighting a standard cyno in a covert cyno capable ship deserves to die.

Why? a covert ops cyno only lets covert ops ships come into it.. useless to most classes.

but ya i guess if ur reason is cuz cov op capable ships r expensive i understand
