The problem with a 'nomad' corp is that someone would wardec it.. The only reason I'm in a corp right now is to dodge the taxes, if I were to be war decced then my crop would go poof. Arguably the NPC corps are Nomad Player Corps.

But I can see it, 'Space Gypsies' or something. 'Pirates of the Kharma Being' maybe (yes, that was a corp of mine at one point).

I dont think thats an issue anymore. With the advent of CCP allowing dec shielding and corp hopping from war decs simply creating new corps on the fly wouldnt be such an issue imo. So really only the name would change.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

Acquire Orca/Freighter
Bring along items/ships in other ship
Fly your mobile base
??
Profit!

I have one main base for my char, where I keep a lot of stuff. I also fly around and explore with my Orca. Good times.

Follow your bliss. Contemplate your naval. If you get static, remove the bellybutton lint. Be one with the universe, and let the universe be one with you only after it's taken a bath. Don't take no wooden nickels and remember, he who don't tooteth his own horn's horn don't get tootethed. Worry not for whom the bell tolls, and always keep a stiff upper respiratory tract.

Dominum nobus probiscum, et cetera.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

perhaps make an alt and poke your head into a few corps, see if they are worth even trying. Then maybe bring in your main.

Although, currently your not tied down to logging in and camping a systems (+1), you're not stuck bashing POS (+1), you're not bound down to one system (+1).

do what makes you happy. If you feel like you need more human interaction, perhaps your gaming style might be able to attract new people into a corp you are about to start.

A few observations.

One is that there is no reason, if you are playing solo, to be in a NPC corp. Peeps seldom dec one man corps. Even if they do all you need to do is use your 2 alts that come with your account to create 2 different corps. Your main than joins one. If that corp gets decced, move your main to the other one. Just quitting and creatign a new corp works as well, but I assume you came up with a neat name or something or just don't want to move stuff around.

I also spent much time corp hopping when I first started. Every corp I joined either fell apart or didn't do a damned thing...or wanted to exploit you in some way while offering little or nothing in return. For example, joining an 'industrial' corp where you have 10% tax but you are not allowed access to any blueprints...and they won't build anything for you at any better price than just buying it off the market.

I've been told I am crazy...because I want to belong to an organization in which I get some benefit for what I give up....so I went corp to corp and finally stopped because it was pointless and made me look suspicious.

So, I took a break from corps for awhile, created my 1 man corp...got wardecced a couple months later and so created the 2 corp thing I mentioned above. It works well.

I tried building my own corp but it seemed about 60% of possible recruits were just spies/corp thieves. Of the remaining 40%, virtually all of them were newbs. I don't mind helping newbs but it seemed once they got trained...they left. Much effort for no gain even if that gain was companionship in a corp.

I eventually found a good corp. Not perfect, but good and stuck with them for over a year now. However, 99% of the corps out there recruiting are crap.

====

A Second observation is that when I did this, I was very nomadic. I also didn't like crap everywhere. However, there is an easy way to consolodate. There are a large number of peeps out there that will courier for you. Just pick a station (Like Jita 4-4) and make courier contracts to move your crap there. They don't charge all that much and is certainly better than hauling it yourself. You can lead a nomadic life and 'clean up' without much effort every few weeks.

Yup! This is what I did. Use a new toon to check out corps...and if you like it, bring your main in.
