Looking forward to the winter expansion!

I honestly can't contain myself. With so many problems being address with the winter expansion, it will breath new life back into the game. Be on the look out for a subscription spike like no other this winter!

Who else is looking forward to the expansion?

I'm looking forward to it, but I'm afraid of getting disappointed.

It will definetly be a critical expansion for the future of EVE.

My guess is that it will not be as great as portrayed but it will be good enough to buy some time and hold ppl from unsubbing.

I look forward to the winter expansion, too. Because then I will know if EVE is still worth extending my subscription with.

Your method of determining a CCP alt is what exactly? Someone that still enjoys the game and is looking forward to new features?

I think all the topics on their wall of 0.0 ideas are good and may even get me out to null sec for a third round. I'm also looking forward to an actual Incarna release. I don't like the NeX, or more specifically it's pricing. Does that make me a CCP alt? I try for constructive feedback and to listen to what their intent is. I also see that they notice when they release something jacked up but it takes months to get a fix through the pipeline.

I am not a CCP alt. They don't pay well enough for me to leave my current programming gig.

How to spot a CCP alt 101 and forum survival.

1. A normal player will post like this in the run up to a patch :

"Hey, some of the new features being talked about look pretty good, hope they can pull it off."

2. A CCP alt will post like this in the run up to a patch :

"OMG OMG, I cant contain myself, this patch is going to make the game the best game ever, anyone canceling their subs is stupid, this patch is going to be like nothing else in the world eva and its gunna be awesome and amazing and so spectacular. Subs are going to skyrocket, theres gunna be no room for new players" etc etc.

Notice the 'reasonable expectation' from the normal player, and the 'overhyped pumped up' version of the CCP alt. Obviously some CCP alts are more elusive, its sometimes a good idea to pack enough provisions for a few days 'roughing it' in the forums, maybe even construction of a rudimentary bridge to lure certain posters out.

The art of CCP alt spotting, is an excellent way to spend spare time, as a hobby it has many rewards. A little effort and forum survival knowledge goes a long way towards ensuring a successfull hunt, and remember, when you spot and catch one, be sure to release it back into the wild internet once you have taken photo's and noted any distinctive markings. They don't make good pets, require constant attention and frequently foul on their own doorstep, they are even known to foul on large groups of people. So, be sporting and let others have a chance of catching the same alt.

CCP alts are not endagered, but there may be a time in the future when their mating/frolicking grounds are overrun by other internet dwelling beasts, so enjoy them but dont harm them.

Forum hype had people believing that each of the last several expansions were going to be the best thing ever.
I haven't seen one live up to expectations since Apoc.

I'm going to sit back and wait for the features list to be published before I anticipate anything.
Even then, I'll wait to see what actually goes live before I get excited about anything.
