Profitable low sec PvP?

Hello all,

I'm just going to throw out a general question to all of you low sec PvPers/Pirates. Have you ever managed to generate an income predominantly on PvP? I'm just curious because I don't have an alt to run incursions/missions nor do I desire one. The other alternative I'm looking into is perhaps exploration as an income source since it will also give me the oppurtunity for plenty of PvP anyway. But I'm wondering - has anyone managed to sustain their PvP habit purely through PvP?

Yes. Granted my alt is in high sec but as my alt only pvps in an iteron V I would say that it is very possible in low sec.

*lol*

@OP:

Yeah, definitely, as long as you win more than you lose. :)

The odd target with expensive loot will show you. Time usually raises your chances,
as you will encounter more and more people. :)

In general the only predictably profitable PvP tends to be scanning and suicide ganking mission bears in high sec that fly ships with far too much bling.

Even that has fairly poor ISK/hr ratio but it is compensated by fairly epic killmails.

that's ridiculous,

Piracy can be very lucrative if you have an adequate setup. Hicter, a cloaky hauler/scout, a keen eye on the system scanner and a familiarity with the tactics of the local blobbers is all you need.

I'm looking at your killboard and these "local blobbers" your referring to appear to be you lol Roll Some nice mails you guys have though, but still.. The question I'm asking about is low sec - primarily solo/small gang warfare.

I'm sure every so often you score a really nice kill - but surely your not supporting your 0.0 PvP on the kills you get alone? I can't see how that is viable in any sense.. Even if you did get a noob Iteron with 50 plexes every once in a blue moon you would still have to split those profits between 50 people.

Are you talking theoretically here or have you actually done it?

Edit: On second thoughts - your efficiency is incredibly high since you fight primarily in fleets. So you don't seem to need much of an income to actually sustain your ship loss.

Just yesterday we engaged a group of people, where one had a RF Warp Disruptor fitted.
Now imagine you kill somebody who uses this solo.

It's definitely doable. The only thing that keeps you from being profitable is yourself
and the belief that it's not doable. Be smart about it and it'll work out for you.

Imagine popping a tornado with 1400s fitted.
The Galliums, higher meta t1, are worth a few millions each, for example.

There are people out there who think that expensive mods = I win
There is also T2 salvage

These two things make it profitable if you win more than you lose :D
