jump freighters questions

Wondering y jump freighters are considered t2 if there is nothing t2 about them. Same size as reg freighter painted diferent. Have less room but have jump engines. Resis aren't any higher. And cost is outrageous 6.5 billion for a jump freighter that's enuffenuff to buy and fit 3 dreads. I think they need to redo the jump freighter. Make it not t2 thrw some engine pods on it for the jump drive. Let it carry same space a regular freighter. Also make it a tier 2 ship and th..en a tier 3 super freighter. Or at least one with armor or shied mods

If anyone ever wonders why these forums suck, just read the 2 previous post. You can find these exact posts in almost every thread on the forum. Unoriginal morons who can't hold an actual conversation.

Anyhow, I agree with you OP. Sure they have the jump ability but with less space and just as easy to gank as a normal freighter, dropping 6.5b on one just doesnt make a whole lot of sense. Seems alot of T2 ships have issues they shouldnt over their t1 counterparts. Why do command ships only have 2 rig slots? Battlecruisers have 3...should be the other way around. Marauders, same deal. Way more training required, way more isk needed to invest in one, less rig slots and not really all that more effective at their job. Seems alot of ships could use some changes.
Of course this is just my opinion :)

The theme behind T2 ships is that they're more specialized and therefore more expensive. That's certainly the JF (when compared to the Freighter, it's T1 counterpart), it's more specialized and more expensive. That is why they're T2.

GL carrying more 5k m3 each in your three Dreads, much less 270k+ m3 in one load.

This displays a clear lack of understanding of the purpose of freighters and jump freighters. They are highly specialized ships with specific roles (which they fill quite well). The jump drive on a JF is a MASSIVE improvement for the specific roles that the JF is designed to fulfill and is certainly worth the cost of the ship. If it's not worth it to you, then don't buy it.

Because 0.0 logistics aren't easy enough, let's make jump freighters more accessible and triple the cargohold size.

Of course this is just my opinion :)

First, a jump freighter is going to be much harder to gank seeing as it can undock AND JUMP TO THE SAFE NULL SEC SYSTEM IN A SECOND. (Thats the reason they dont have a freighter sized cargo)
Second, 1 less rig slot and a higher cost is the price for: better tanking and DPS (for the combat command ships), and the ability to greatly enhance your fleet.
Third, Marauders do more DPS and tank better than thier t1 counterparts

Also t2 ships get their very good t2 resists.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

i just hope if ccp will ever introduce T2 dread /carriers they will keep the same price escalation from t1 to t2 tha freighters and JFs have

That's up to the production corps. Only reason why JFs are really used in my uneducated opinion is the jump drive. So, few are made per month which is where we get the 6b/ cost. Hell, Titan hulls are cheap.

a jump freighter is the best you can get when in hauling things. Lol

1. you dont need any modules to protect urself cous you JUMP to the place you want. Blink

2. everything goes way faster than a normal jump freighter, so it may have less cargo hold, but you can jump a few times to get it all across. Arrow

3. well, there is no 3 becouse the first to were already enough Big smile

2. Check local for any neuts or reds or whatever
3. If non-blues/greens are present you dont actually need to jump
4. If local is 'as blue as the sky' jump and deliver cargo
