not enough risk in this game!

right now the issue is THERE IS NO RETORT FOR SOMEONE THATS USING RECYCLABLE CHARACTERS
spy/suicide gank to hearts desire, biomass alt (or sell) when character is too well known, make new one, rinse and repeat
also, there are always talk of "getting back at people" but in a game where death is a slap on the wrist and they have nothing to take, what can you take to get even?

known botters simply sell the character after it gets warned and buy/make another one for their tengu alts

eve is not a harsh universe, it is simply spreadsheets in space. the only thing harsh about it is the assholeism (excuse my language) that other players do and make a religion about it.

you will NEVER get podded by anyone other than a player.
there is absolutely no risk from the NPCs other than another player showing up.
there is no consequences in Eve Online, only from other players, and that reach is short as they can only take things you put in front of them.

NPCs will never retaliate, will never think, and will never ever pose an actual threat.

why is this game advertised as a "cold harsh universe" when the only "cold harsh" i get is from the 0.0 overlords or other players?

How would you suggest policing what actual real person is using what character? Get ccp to hack everyones webcam and make webcams mandatory? Special EvE Online thumbprint / retinal scanners for login?

Fair enough its a gap in the game, but since you have no ideas for fixing it and just want to rant on the forums i feel that you post is lacking in substance. The same thing could happen in any other game where the option to make a new account is available, and while it sucks a bit there really isnt much anyone can do about it.

EXTRA NOTE BY EDIT : Barbie D0LL you should pick better fights if you want more risk, your killboards show only 4 kills, 3 of which defenceless mining ships with several other pilots on her team as well for all kills. If you want the risk of being podded you need to enter a fight with an armed ship in the first place.

Problem is if you hound someone through all their characters (accounts even) you are taking the fight out of the game and making it personal, which would be seen as a form of harassment.

I think that CCP should add more risk.
Every hour your ship has a 50% chance to explode.
It can be reduced by "Anti Explosion Measures(rank 3)" 1% per skill level. "Advanced Anti Explosion Measures(rank 8)" 0,5% per skill level. And Anti Exploding Implants which can be inserted in every slot for 0,75% per implant.
This would make eve more fun and exciting.

If the game isn't for you then play something else... No whining in forums....

And if you get that worked up about it, then I recommend 3 deep breaths, and 100 lines...

"its just a game, if I'm not happy, I can find another game, it's just a game"

Otherwise harden up and make pretty explosions...

There is no such thing as a fair fight...

If your fighting fair you have automatically put yourself at a disadvantage.

ip bans for botters. not infallible but a lot better than just per account.

I agree that more aggressive NPCs would be awesome. Deployed your POS in a WH? Expect sleepers to start shooting it in a couple days. WH in your highsec system? Be on the lookout for sleeper scout gangs in your belts. Got popped in an incursion? Better start spamming that warp button before the rats pod you.

@ OP

Risk is regulated by the players.
Its this way in all similar games.
Players choose activities with a level and risk and reward level that makes them comfortable.

Dont be such a noob.

Equal of risk. People who use alt no have. Old rich alt is hide safe, make ISK. New rubbish one die - he no care. All want is easy alpha gank on your main then he hide - cowards.

Game in many way make too ease for the slime people.

Well seeing as you have no figures to support your claim, I thought I would do a simple quick study.

Its a count of pages of all monthly kills on EvE Kill, which in theory should show the relative scale of aggression in EvE, it has a trend line included.

The trend figures show a relative growth of kills over the period Jan 2009 to Jan 2012 as roughly an increase of 10 percent.

It's quite amazing that IP-address is tattooed into a person's skin, and the poor bastard is not allowed to change it ever. Luckily one IP-address is only used by one person in the whole world.

Ok, so they just release their ip and get a new one. Now someone else gets that ip from the ISP and they can never play. Not a solution.
