I am currently looking to get involved in some incursions. I have yet to try it out and I'm looking to join a group. I'm pretty deep in Gallente skills (armor tanking, drones, etc) so if there is any core group of incursion hunters out there, please slip me a message in game or by mail.

Thanks in advance,

TRY TDF chat "The Ditanium Fleet" for armor ( which most Gallante fits are) the Domi BS though does not get any luv though there sorry to say... DOMI's are really drone/repper BS's. Drone ships are not really used in any Incursion fleet docterines well except with the exception of a few HQ sites ( most notably the MOM revenant site ) spider tanking really is fail for the most part in Incursions for a couple reasons.

I have talked with a mate in the game and have explained to me that there are 2 types of incursion groups: trash and shinny.
He does in trash groups with Maelstrom (actually, he will buy Mach) and make 100M/hour. About shinny groups, he has said that they (normally) need machariel, nightmare and vindicator in some cases.
I have Gallente/Caldari trained, including all Missiles/Hybrid, so i suppose that Vindicator would be the correct approach, but don't want to waste a lot of training for then having problems to get a group if i can grind LP's in a pimped Tengu for L4.

What would you prefer in your experience for maximum ISK? Vindicator in incursions or Tengu in your L4 local agent?

100m/h in a trash "bring whatever" fleet .... sure sure ... with the fleet numbers were getting your sometimes hard pressed to make that even in shiny t3 fleet due to low availability of NCOs etc

I hear a lot of people throwing out the "nightmare" and "mach" but if you are just getting into it "new" and say i am flying a Abaddon. I cant afford a mach or nightmare so where would i best look, i have a hard time thinking that someone could be so harsh and rejected me quickly when everyone had to start somewhere. i have done one incursion but it was the equivalent of a lvl 1 mission, i think it was like a cruiser site or something.

Shiny = mach, NM, maybe vindi, maybe balg, maybe loki. All of the above shield fit. Really the only armor tanker that does well is legion (legion fleets dominate everything but OTAs). If you fly gallente I would bring an Onerios. Every fleet uses logistics. A couple of Onerios in a legion fleet = Much money. In an ideal world ~3 min NCOs at 10 million/pop. Do the math. 100 million/hr is easily doable in a shiny fleet without too much competition (i.e. not on a weekend). With the LP/salvage values way down level 4s don't come close. You will need logi 5 to get in on a decent fleet. If you are cross trained in Caldari (as tengu implies) Basilisk do well. Sorry about the spelling :^) For strait Gallente you will have more luck in a navy mega (either shield or armor) than a domi.

if you dont own a faction battleship, dont do incursions.
if you dont own t2 guns, dont do incursions.

you will get only shitfleets that everyone will contest with a laugh and you will make less money than with lvl 4 missions.

Fixed that for you.

You can still make a good amount of isk in a fleet full of nothing but T1/navy battleships...the only issue is crowding and people taking the sites. And that's just vanguards.

HQ and Assault fleets generally have an entire system to themselves, and aren't terribly picky about fleet comp in comparison to vanguards. With a good fleet you can still top 60m/hr or so in either, and with much more consistency than a vanguard fleet that has to contest every other site. (provided you don't have a system full of NCN or TPPH, of course... Evil)

So I've done a few VG Incursions already in my beloved Navy 'Geddon, and never had a problem or even got close to dying in a fleet of mixed consist, so whats the big fuss about 'shiny' fleets? More DPS for easier site contesting? Faster site clearing?

I myself ran my first VG last night, I am really lucky my main corp has a team that runs these, so I had lots of info.

I bought a mach did a semi pimp fit but am still building up to t2 guns.

The information in these pages is very good mostly apart from when peaople start getting personal.

So to sum up VG are isk makers to contest you need better DPS then the guys your shooting against plus knowledge.

If you cant spend 1-1.5 bill on ship fittings and implants dont get offended by not getting invite offers.

FC unless they really know you want DPS not some DPS. Also gal boats are nice with the drones think about your damage at longer ranges. My mach hits pretty good at 60 k's but much better at 45. I remeber blasters being pretty range limited.

its the difference between alot of money and a RIDICULOUS amount of money
winning a contest is faster then doing a site by yourself
min/maxing is a fun part of RPGs and MMOs
when you invest isk into making something awesome, you dont want fleet members that drag you down

just a few reason i can think of

assuming i can afford a blinged out nightmare, is there a point in flying incursions without t2 guns?

I should buy an Ishtar.

Yes. For snipers meta4's are fine.

In more general terms, you can get into incursions with 100m isk (I did).

Fit a harbinger like the second one on http://eve-survival.org/wikka.php?wakka=ArmorHarbinger . You can depimp the web and the INEANM. I even had success with the first fit on that page. During peak hours, you won't get picked over all the legions doing vanguards but you can get in an assault fleet.

An alternative starting point is a navy apoc mith meta4 beams or tachs. You don't need T2 weapons that way. You might even get invited in a normal apoc.

**** meta4. if i can afford a nightmare i can easily afford a few faction pulses or tachs. which brings me to the next question: if you run with pulses, can you afford to not have scorch?

I should buy an Ishtar.

Well considering you cannot use Scorch on T1 Guns, Smooth move Captain.

The next question, If you can use T2 Guns, Why are you not using them, Or I miss read.
