Im between test sessions in SWTOR and I thought I would visit the EVE forums. Im glad to see that the players are still friendly and helpfull as ever. I cant say anything about the SWTOR space part of the game..,.. only that it really sucks!! EVE will continue to be the greatest space mmo of all time!

After reading all the responses to my thread you EVE players have not disappointed me with your comments. They are well meaning and helpful. They never went off topic and they were very insightful! By the way Im not a DEV alt and have been playing from almost the first day EVE started.

well all eve players should be concerned about the direction this game has taken. I point out the merge of the japaneese playerbase to tranquility. Many mmo's in the past have merged servers to disguise a rapid drop in active players, shortly follwed by the demise of the game. Sadly i think eves days are numbered

As I am in a good mood, I will explain the situation according to case 1

- There are 4 EVE servers: Tranquility (aka TQ), which is the global server; Serenity, which is a China-only server due to Chinese laws; Singularity (aka Sisi), which is the global test server; and Duality, which is a feature test server

None of the above servers is being merged, modified nor touched in any way. What is being done is that CCP made a partnerhsip with Nexon in order to localize, distribute and sell subscriptions to a Japanese-localized EVE client in Japan.

So Japanese players will use their Nexon accounts to log in into a Japanese-localized client of EVE, which will log in into TQ as usual. And as so many Russian, most of those Japanese players will never be heard of outside of their channel(s).

If you ask me "why?", I will venture: because Japan is a huge market which may be interested both in space barbies and a persistent shooter AKA Dust 514, which is a PS3 exclusive and, guess which one is the country where PS3 has got the largest market share...?

That is so true. SWTOR space combat is a joke. I was so pumped up for it and instead it shat on my keyboard.

thats because Lucas arts already created the best space flight sim ever back in the early 90s
ever since then they have never been able to top it because they are unwilling to replicate the original

oh they go so far and all the space combat is like the x-wing series but never quite the same, but the only way they can get the magic back is to 100 % replicate the old LA flight engine (SWOTL BoB Xwing Tie XvT) and then expand on it.


but they just won't do it.
