Which nullsec alliances are about to fail- reason inside.

I know a bunch of highsec carebears that are looking to become nullbears and would like to rent some space.

But naturally they would like to do this with a solid alliance that is not about to buckle or buckle under the flimiest of attacks

Obviously the Goons are not about to fail anytime soon since Mittans the mighty owns the CSM

and

the Russians are not about to fail anytime soon as the rent has to be paid.

But apart from those two are there any others that could be a failure cascade that my highsec friends need to worry about.

My thanks for your thoughtful answers

Your conclusion is correct (that Goonswarm is not about to fail), but your reasoning is flawed.

Goonswarm will not fail because its core membership comes from an out of game community which does not care even a little bit as to the in-game space guild's reputation or status. In short, Goonswarm will not fail because the people who play in it are playing EVE to play in Goonswarm, with other Goons. Goonswarm has not always had The Mittani on the CSM, and it has endured rises to and falls from power all the same.

Well, null is a giant NAP right now. It has been for a while. Your biggest threat may be other blues actually.

However, Your friends my be in a little over their heads right now. If handled wrong you will lose everything. I mean this in the best possible way. Really.

You need to be able to gather that kind of info already if you plan a big move. The meta game, contacts and scouting are a few important options. Talk with ther people who rent because I'm almost certain there's more to this than you know. The life of a renter is crap. The life of an industrial renter is the worst.

Think it through. Do some research and learn how to gather intel. Collapses can be sudden, but often the writing is already on the wall. You need to be able to read that wall.

Since there really haven't been any actual wars in quite a while, that may be you smallest concern. Ganking is a much bigger concern.

Therefore, the people you would be renting from are your biggest threat. They will know what you have and where you are. They definately don't like you. Boredom is the biggest enemy in EVE as a whole and its a huge problem in null specifically. More than a few pilots feel that shooting renters makes for a relaxing afternoon. Nobody will care that you're unhappy with that either.

I have known too many people who have rented in null, lost everything and later just split up. Its quite sad because there were some really good people involved and for many of them it was a catalyst for unsubbing. In most cases like that it happened over time. The negative impact was never resolved.

So there it is. Boredom, betrayal, and elitism will be your greatest enemies. Do intel first, if you must go.

Huh, I guess all these sov wars in the north, east, south, and recently southwest are just massive overview glitches.

Or you don't know what you're talking about.

I'm gong with the latter.

Thanks for the advice. They are on it. The only thing that i said to them was dont rent from the Goons. The Russians might be a better option as if they just leave them alone and let them the system rent then there might be a Zaporozhets in it for the alliance CEO.

I do miss the wars. I made alot of isk on them.
A lot (your 'sweet Jesus' meme here)
I was just a one man/two account corp at the time too. Yuo couldn't build ships and ammo fast enough. My most memorable sale was 20 BCs and 7 BSs in LESS than 10 minutes. that's not counting in the fact that everything else I had up for sale was gone too. I put it up on the market and insta-wallet blink. Not to one person either. All individual sales. There was no ship that wouldn't sell either. The crappiest frigate on the market? they were buying it. God yeah.Good days, long gone.

I started in EVE because of them, the wars and the player stories. It seemed interesting. Ah, the glory days of old.Big smile Those days are gone too and that's sad. now I'm just a bitter old guy talking about how we didn't have shoes to wear either. You kids have it soft! Lol

Not any more. Sub expires in a few days. My other accounts too. Like I said, those days are gone.

I used to use a lot of the isk getting other players started or through various hurdles in the game. I funded lots of new people and funded several corp start-ups. Sometimes I'd just lend a hand. EVE is supposed to be a social experience in one way or another. When I would be in NPC corps, like now, I would sometimes sit in new pilot areas and answer basic questions or direct pilots to better qualified groups or people in order to help them on their way. That was always a pretty good day.

I tell you what though. Answer one person on those channels and get ready because the flood gates open right up! "What's the difference between a MWD and AB?" "How do I open a cargo contiainer?" "I shot a CONCORD ship and was instantly in a station. Why?" "How do I become a Diplomat" " Why do people use T2s? The meta 4 seems better." and on and on.......

What exactly is it that you NEED, that you MUST HAVE from null to insure your corps/alliance continues to exist. Usually the answer is nothing.

If you want to go to null because you want to - thats different. You can pay rent and insure the people who are stronger and richer then you remain that way or you can go weaken them. Seems standing on your own would be more interesting and challenging,
there must be ways to pvp and conduct economic and physcological warfare in null without renting.

Guess the NAP dude missed that RA/ -A- are fight as usual.

Solar/UAxDeath are having a pretty decent civil war, and god damn near 3/4 of the maps is involved along with null merc...with wardecs, Goons just made WN a non-entity, and are trying to decide if they can take Raiden on.

There is some non-agression, but we didn't kill 10,000 ships this month roaming.

Well, if you want to go it alone then I would point you to the barren wastes we know as Providence. Its the absolute worst space, but you can work with CVA and eventually you could get your own place. Working with CVA can be....challenging, at times.

There is no absolute safety in EVE. If you have been in high sec at all you should be aware of this. High sec is very dangerous.

Don't take anything nice. Leave it safed up someplace in high sec. Always be ready to evacuate. Don't trust your enemies and trust your allies less. SCOUT! Constant intel. Screen your applicants well. Do not form a democracy in you corp. Contribute to the alliance your in, but stand your ground on what you need. If they don't like it, it wasn't goingto work anyway but at least you have a little dignity. The odds are greatly stacked against you. Never forget that. If it looks like a trap, is. If it looks like its safe, its a trap.Lol Have fun!

But if Pavel leaves who will tell the newbies in NPC corp chat such nuggets of wisdom like 'there are no wars in 0.0 atm, everyone is NAPd"?

he will be missed
