I appologize if this is the wrong forum but I'm trying to get back into the game and I figure that Incursions are probably the way to go for me for now.

To start off I have Logi 5 and can fly all but the Oneros. I would like to focus on Shield fleets so what I'm looking for is advice on the fit I put together for the Scimitar and for the Basi. I have had some experience running Scimis in nanoish gangs in 0.0 and have run Guardians in Armor fleets in 0.0 but have not run any Basi fleets in a very long time.

Starting with the Basi.

**** poor sensor strength.

My main concerns and what I have come to this forum to seek clarification on are:

1. I am worried that there isn't enough buffer on either of the ships.
2. I Think that the sensor strength of the scimi is too low.
3. Are either of these fits even viable for Incursion logi work?

Oh and while I was typeing this wall of text I thought about a change to the Scimi fit. If I dropped one invuln and the heat dissapation for an explosion dampening amp and an ECCM I would put myself at 82,72,80,79 with 33.3 sensor strength and be at 40% cap stable. Would that work better? Or is my buffer still too low?

Any help would be awsome.

Jam strength of niarja's is something like 45 - no amount of ECCM is really going to make a difference, and its better to be tanked and be in a fleet that can burn them down fast. 2nd, you want at least 1 large shield extender on both basi and scimi (unless you're flying with a blitz fleet who you are familiar with), as otherwise your buffer may be too small for someone who isn't really paying that much attention. You especially need the extender if you are flying in assaults/HQ's. Lastly, if you can manage it, it is great if you can put boosting modules (tracking links, remote sebo's, etc.) in your midslots, because they help your fleet do more DPS which completes the sites faster.

That gives me 5304 shields and that tracking link while keeping me cap stable at 33%.. wich probably means im not really cap stable. The bad thing about this fit is that the resists go down to 87,79,69,74... and I remember somewhere being told that you need at least 70 across to board to work for incursions. The only way I can see to get that is to use a faction Invuln which is slightly expencive. I tried dropping a CPR for a DC II and just going with 3 reppers cap stable with the 4th being a pulse thing but that doesn't work. I would need to drop to 2 reppers stable and pulse the other two. Not really acceptable imo.

So is that 69% going to be an issue? Or can i squeeze by with that till i have the capital to get the faction one? Should I even really bother with a faction invuln on such an easily ganked ship?

You need to omni-tank in Incursions (AKA, one Invul, one EM hardener).

Regarding the Basi fit:
Use 2 invulnerability, 1 EM hardener
If you switch a field extender for a current router, you can fit an Damage Control and a PDU in your lows. More EHP, Less sig, still cap stable with 1 transfer.

Also, make sure you have a spare Large S95a Partial Shield Transporter so you can convert you basi to a 5/1 setup on request.

Might as well take full advantage of those tracking links in my oppinion, note a scimi wont take the bomber alpha so dont even try in the mothership fight. But that will easily tank the normal sites while giving lots of tracking link love

For a scimi's tank, in vanguards, two invulns or and invuln and a DCU, plus a large shield extender, should be enough. The KIN/EXP resists are a little low, but that damage comes from the missiles, which means the low resists are offset by the scimi's tiny sig radius. (around 90m with a LSE)

However, my suggestion would be to use two Invulns AND a DCU for resists, unless you know for sure that the other logis are good. That extra tracking link isn't such a big deal if it keeps your ship alive.


Your biggest threats, oddly enough, are the laser cruisers like romis and augas. The Tamas and Deltoles don't really hit very hard at all, nor do the gun-toting frigates.
