Do you think CCP is too lazy to survey its player base and determine what needs to be fixed and what doesnt then vote YES to the removal of CSM.

If you believe CSM provides a valuable resource to both CCP and the player base then vote NO
Disband the CSM

So CCP can't be bothered to survey their playerbase, thus, the CSM should be disbanded?

Personally, I am of the opinion that we could do without it. I have seen posts where goons have openly admitted that they have been manipulating the system, so why should the rest of us "pubbies" continue to deal with blatant manipulation?

I think that a direct survey would be a much better option than the current situation that many of us are unhappy with.

As an added bonus, it would be a cost-cutting measure for CCP, no more flying the CSM members to Iceland for parti-- er, meetings.

Devour to survive, so it is, so it's always been Eve is a great game if you can get past all of the asshats....

You need to read this. That will help you understand the CSM. Not just a superficial understanding, but a deeper understanding of why they exist, why they are good for EVE and what their purpose is.

Then read this, to see what they are actively doing.

My vote is NO, I believe the CSM is valuable.

CSM is still evolving into the thing we all first thought when CCP came out with it.

Give it time, clearly the only issue is that the CSM while popular and very knowladgeable in most areas, do not currently support every profession and play type/style.

They will get there.... chill :)

I have never once been asked to fill out a survey or personally respond on the status of the game by any memeber of CSM. Explain to me how CSM surveys players other than those in their current corp/alliance.

CCP survey. They do so roughly every month, you can even win prizes. It is in the Newsletter. You are subscribed, right?

CSM does not generally survey to the best of my knowledge, they discuss. (See here)

I don't think the CSM should be removed, I think there need to be changes made. We don't need a group of selfish idiots pushing their agenda; we need people who can actually represent the players as a whole.

I've actually never subbed to the newsletter, now I'm wondering how you would go about doing so. Can't find a link to it anywhere.

A lot of courtesy flushes are required in threads about the CSM.

Op seems to think that MMO players like filling out questionares and surveys.

The current CSM have helped drive CCP development back toward Eve Online. A large portion of the information provided by CSM members (past and present) shows depth of understanding that regular players do not have - unless they spend 2-3 hours a day reading about Eve Online.

In regards to the oft pushed opinion that CSM members should represent everyone - no person who steps forward for public duties represents everyone - they represent their constituents.

What CCP should do is make changes to the game based on the asinine, poorly thought out, hugely contradictory ramblings of the tiny percentage of players who post on the forums, that would be super effective.

You mean the players who care enough about the game to populate the community?

Keep the CSM, yes.

I am, however, in favor of some tweaking, along the lines of having representatives elected out of the major professions, in order to form a more coalition type of representative body.

So your idea is that since CCP doesn't listen to their players, they should remove the most effective way of discerning what players want? I don't get it either

Also "winning" is not really the same as "manipulating the system" unless of course you lost the election

Or are you saying that Mittens, like an inept Russian bureaucrat, stuffs electronic ballot boxes before the election even begins?
