You can stick a toothpick in the space between the open lid and the paint pot, it'll hold it open without requiring two hands :p

Genius!

Simple yet so effective. Thanks for the tip.

EDIT: You get a like for that :P

If a fish weighs 1 Kilogram plus half its own weight, how much does it weigh? (It's not 1.5kg btw)

You people and your silly space marines. Power armor is for the weak and cowardly, real men wear flak armor and carry MOAR PLASMA. And tanks. Can't forget the tanks.

Tank!

I only have one plasma gun, and one heavy plasma in my entire army. I have lots of meltaguns and flamers though. I could use more lascannons, which is why I'm slowly assembling this:

Predator Annihilator, extra armour

My strategy is to infiltrate a squad of Chaos Chosen carrying an icon in turn 1, right next to the enemy army. The Chosen carry 2 meltas and 2 flamers. By turn 2, assuming my rolls are good, I should be dropping 10 Chaos Terminators (4 bolter/melta, 2 bolter/flamer, 2 heavy flamer) - this lets me blow a hole in the middle of the enemy army, targeting tanks and making sure they're occupied while my Rhinos drive up and get my melee units into skull-taking range.

I haven't played a game yet to figure out how effective this strategy is... soon.

5k of vampire counts, 4k of grey knights.

But they're a grey army at the moment as I haven't had time to paint them. Very nice pics in this thread!

Holy crap Istvaan, those models are jawdropping! I used to play 40k TT from 13 until 18, had a Imp Guard and Dark Angels army. Now I mainly just play the video games (got all the Dawn of Wars and Space Marine) and read books from the Black Library. For the last 2-3 years I've been reading the Horus Heresy series, and it makes me want to get back into it so much, but its so dang expensive.

So which Istvaan are you, III or V? P

I have got a couple of things related to WH40K sitting on my shelf.

That's quite an old shot. Everything is now painted and there is a second Thunderhawk there as well.

I named my guy after a character also, Capt Saul Tarvitz, one of the most staunchly loyal Marines after the betrayal.

I didn't know there were Chaos Terminators.

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

They're 25% cheaper pts-wise than imperial terminators, but come with power weapons and twin bolters instead. They have way more weapon options than the imperial version, including single-shot flamers/meltaguns, single lightning claws, but are slightly less accurate at range.

Also they're so covered in spikes they get an extra attack out of it.

Im pretty sure every Legion Pre-Heresy had Terminators. Therefore, when Horus betrayed the Emperor, Chaos Termies were born.

They also had a lot more of the suits initially, the AdMech was diverting more equipment to Horus and his followers before the rebellion started. Tactical Dreadnought armour was intended to replace the standard power armour, there where lots of suits in storage and transit. Once Horus agreed to open the vaults of Morevac for the AdMech they began to starve loyalist legions of stuff and sent it to Horus.

Two CSM with flamers

Just finished the one on the left. One on right is ancient.

I really like your painting, you needed some Obliterators imo though. You mentioned before you where going for lots of mobility and deep striking.

Obliterators are more versatile than Havoks, one squad can do the job of a full squad of Lascannon Havoks or a squad of anti infantry Termies. No Chaos army should leave home without them. The models are cool to.

I find the Oblit models completely deformed and hideous :|

Very un-Night-Lordy too. Dumb walking bricks with meat and guns on them. I plan to add a Predator Annihilator next, because I'm still a bit short on anti-tank weapons.

Just gotta get started... vehicle painting is the worst :|
