Should blasters be balanced to be more in line with lasers and autos (increase their range and falloff)?

OR

Should blasters become a short range, high alpha (higher than howitzers), high tracking, low rate of fire weapon?

AND

if the second choice is active, what do you think of making rails a high rate of fire, low alpha, good dps, ****** ****** tracking weapon?

Root beer is OK but if you want to try something different, I've found root beer makes for a really great enema. Really.
