so you people with bad mics or crappy soundcards or not enough bandwidth to do voice and play eve can now offload the task to your smartphone.

only problem is iphone people have to buy it (LOL)
its free for android users

works well IMO.

I have yet to do any serious testing in that respect to give an answer, I assume there will be keep alive packets constantly and of course packets when someone speaks.

I left it on for a couple of hours while plugged in last night and my droid leeches off my router when at home.

But I can run some tests later perhaps.

personally I think it was a little more specific to EGD than you appear to, seing as though TS3 is the PERFERRED in-game coms for EVE ONLINE

I am not sure of how useful this could really be on a cell service.

I would personally go with an encrypted bluetooth dongle with a bluetooth headset. Both can be gotten for cheap.
