When 'cloaking' a ship or making it go ninja stealth mode ^^ it somehow deflects/absorbs the light yadayadayada to become invisible.

Wich is awesome!!! When your the cloaker......

What we could change without pissing of the cloakers and/or changing the use or disbalancing the game;

Well if it can be scanned down it would pretty much render a cloak useless so thats not an option...
Changing cloak/decloak times etc would be kinda pointless and gamebraking for most.

But what we can change...

Is how we see the cloaked ship! Instead of making it 100% invisible we could make light deflect oddly of it, but in a way u hardly see it at all unless looking for it carefully...

This wont change a lot in the gameplay ofcourse, but will make it 'possible' for the super sharp eyed to see an incoming cloaky ship :-) I vote for a simple but fun change! Lol

a better suggestion is to add a fuel bay. i don't know what type of fuel, but if someone is cloaked, they need to move fuel from the cargo into the fuel bay on perhaps an hourly basis. This means no more cloaking up and walking away, and this also means that people know for sure whether a cloaker is afk for more than an hour or not.

Cloaking is fine.

Agreed.

Cloaking is fine.

Also, visually checking the impossible infinite blackness of space for cloakers sounds like it would take a long time.

This.

I vote for this,

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

Both of these ideas are game breaking.

Cloaking is fine.

Read the winter summit notes. The idea of another class ship is being developed that it's purpose is to find "ninja" ships...
PS this is 5+ re-post of same topic

there is nothing wrong with cloak no need for fuel, it would kill afk cloaking and not suitable at all for this reason, we need afk cloaking.

Cloaking is working as intended. No need for change.

I dont like the idea of anything been afk in this game and been safe at the same time . However your proposition is flawed especially when pvp and intel on targets itself is involved . It would completely break the cloaked ships abilities to do their job .

However i would like to see something along the lines of the ship been scan-able using the D-scanner but unable to verify its distance . it means one person can find out where he is but cant pinpoint his location unless others get involved . Basically an afk cloaked pilot will be caught eventually where an active cloaked pilot can just warp off to a new safe point keeping his immunity .

EDIT:
this could also add a change in pvp tactics by splitting up up big fleets while making the main force weaker . That is if people would even bother to chase the cloaked ships about .

Dear god, a vaguely reasonable suggestion about cloaks, I never thought Id see one of these...

I have no problem making it 'star trek' esque, where you can see a shadow of the cloaked ship, but cannot target it or select it or interact with the ship in anyway. After all, in Eve 'lore', if you were to look out the window of your ship you would be able to see the cloaked ship, it would just be invisible to your systems.

However, not sure this is really needed, cloaking is fine as it is.
