Bad Timing on Downtime - Any compensation?

So ive been slowly chipping away at a High-Sec POS belonging to a long since inactive Corp when just as we get into the armor (3 hours after starting on the shield) we are informed there is a downtime in 16 minutes -.-

Really wtf ? Will the shield still be down when we come back or should i just sharpen the knife and draw the dotted line on my wrists now?

Was running a mission post patch and pre crash, mission timer unaffected while mined amount value reset to zero. Had to re-mine the whole mission and lost the bonus. No big deal, just ISK, but still, their crash is my loss.

Ive played through afew patches before but today's lesson was more more about planning major operations with more consideration to upcomming server events.

I only run missions for the LP, and it gives me something to do while I skill up. I sell PLEX when I *NEED* ISK.
