IF YOU RUN INTO A VERIFICATION ERROR AFTER INSTALLING THE LATEST EVE ONLINE PATCH PLEASE FOLLOW THESE STEPS:

  • Open Windows Task Manager and check if there is still an ExeFile.exe Process running, end the process if that is the case.
  • Run the repair.exe located in the EVE Online installation (if you run into problems try to run it again as Administrator).

PS. Thank you very much everybody for hanging in.

  • yep, no problem there, turned off exefile.exe, its not running
  • I've ran the repair as admin and as not as admin and exactly the same problem happens.

  • I could send the log file?

This sounds like and issue with your graphics settings or DirectX dlls, can you try to run bin\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe (located within your EVE Online installation) and if this isn't working try cleaning your cache?

    Thanks for the info.

Looking into this, might be one of the edge servers having bad data, should have more info within the next 30 minutes.

OK we ran a purge of the Repair Tool Data file on all Edge servers, you should be able to use the repair tool now.

If you still have trouble could you please let me know from which country/region you are connecting and if possible your ISP so we can start an investigation with our CDN into this matter.

I'd just bite the bullet and grab a fresh client instead. Shouldn't take long, especially if your on a BT Infinity connection. Delete the old folders and install a fresh copy. Worked for me.

I would very much like to still get your geographical location however, if you had the issue as well, so that we can get the underlying issues fixed. Unfortunately its not feasible for everyone to just download a new client in a few minutes due to the size of it :)

    Same problem

I had to run the repair tool in adminstrator mode (Windows 7) to get it to work, then nuke the stuck Exefile file process in the task manager.

Repair tool is running now, will report how well it worked shortly.
