Phenomena generator for keepstars

So, keepstars have DDs... there is a precedent for them having titan gear.

A keepstar, for what it costs, should say "this is our space". Sadly all it does is give you a very durable staging point. It doesn't confer any of the "home field advantages" that I think it should offer, save for again being a staging point that supers can use.

My suggestion is thus. A system-wide phenomena generator which increases mass by 30%.

Placing keepstars with such a module at choke points in space would provide MASSIVE advantages to the home field team. Gate camps would be nigh impossible to escape. And, in a system where you've fitted up a keepstar, you kind of deserve to have that advantage.

It would help you force a fight with ships that would otherwise just blow past your defense fleet with insta-warping or nearly insta-warping ships. Ships like cloaky nullified T3Cs, especially with their recently nerfed mass, would suffer greatly from this.... and I truly enjoy that thought.


EDIT:
I changed "warp speed acceleration" to "mass", so that you can mess with blops a whole lot more. Be funny if the blops return operation failed because the BB ran out of fuel after the plated recon used an extra 30% lol.

Wow.. I mean super wow. Currently Eve needs much more unstable null, conflict drivers and a new sov system. Speaking as a member of a group that enjoys dgaf fights and the war machine, such entrenching would cement nullblocs where they are.

CCP cashed in with the casino war by focusing on us as bad people, something that Eve requires, and has to have a human hand to make it happen. Without the chance for the rest of Eve to attempt our destruction, or groups like us, the game would stagnate and the wars would only be in npc null and possibly lowsec.

Contrary to popular belief the bloc's like fighting, not just scamming, stealing, griefing and is printing. Good fights are what the game is about, among other things. I want your stuff, your space and your corpses. But I don't like an additional insane grind to get it.

Use the force without consent and the court wont acquit you even if you are a card carryin', robe wearin' Jedi.

What if a Keepstar from a sovereignty-holder (and probably director-level permissions) could simply turn off gates?

And that's an actual question, I don't do enough nullsec to have an opinion about it, I'm genuinely curious.

Perhaps with a way to get around it, to prevent bottlenecks, like if you arrive at a blockaded gate, you get a free no-fatigue cyno effect to the gates in other systems attaching to the blockaded system. So people can go around with capitals.

What on earth makes you think sov null needs to be buffed? We need the opposite, if anything.

What would stop someone from just putting this at the entrance to their ratting pocket and creating a land of near-perfect krabbing safety?

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

See the response by Dark Lord Trump above because he touches lightly on why this would be bad. To attack anything in a system you first have to get someone into that system scouts to check it or a cyno character so you can jump ships into it etc. If you could shut down the gates at will then you essentially are 100% safe inside that system. And no it would not be just one system, by strategically placing Keepstars a group could essentially make a huge area of nul sec space 100% safe. OK maybe not 100% safe my son sitting next to me here not so politely reminds me that a spy could at least in theory open the gates allowing for a cyno alt to get into the system, or that spy could simply light the cyno as well. So movement of ships around a closed system is not the issue, getting ships into that closed system to fight those who live there and to destroy their stuff is.

There's also Wormholes to consider. It would never be 100%, though probably close enough as to not matter.

Said Keepstar would need to be on the outside of the door it closes so that it could be attacked to open the door. For best results the thing that closes the door should be directly attackable without dealing with reinforcement timers and such, and vulnerable to small groups.
