If you look around in game you will find hundreds of player names that are antisemitic and disrespectful towards the jewish community.

Why CCP doesn't do anything?

This is by far most ugliest gaming community that I have ever seen!

Feel free to point them out and explain why the names are anti-semitic..

If you can't I'd suggest everyone blocks you as a trouble causing forum troll.

Solecist Project...." They refuse to play by the rules and laws of the game and use it as excuse ..." " They don't care about how you play as long as they get to play how they want."

Welcome to EVE.

This is the wrong place to be making such accusations. If you have any issues with any particular instances then I'd suggest you report them... Though, if you're going to take the step of publicly accusing CCP, or their agents, or inaction I'd not be the least supprised if they didn't take you seriously.

If indeed you have gone through the proper channels and the issue has been dismissed, then, I'd suggest that any percieved offence was either not intended and/or not worth being concerned about. Based on your apparent inability to cite particular instances I'd say it is the latter.

Generally speaking, interactions on the internet can have a very robust nature - and this is something you accepted when you acknoledged that online interations were not rated. If you're going to be this easily offended by things you see and hear, then, I'd suggest you are not mature enough to be using the internet.

A thing which is being said over any internet gaming community out there, I've ever been part of.

on the matter of topic: antisemitism is a very vague term, without a particular instance present its not possible to give an opinion on this.

Mostly it is "just" cussing. People call each other whatever generates the most salt. Then there is the inevitable attempt of adolescents to appear “tough” by bad language. When everything else fails antisemitisms is some trolls' last resort for a bit of attention. Only way to deal with all this is to ignore it, going all political correct on those people will make things only worse. Most realize that it makes you look daft at some point anyway and we can see “crabbing/bearing” used most of the time to refer to ISK addicted behavior lately.

Of course there are some annoying cases when players miss-use the game for political agitation. That is against the EULA and can be reported. But there is a distinct difference between calling someone names to put him/her on the edge and preaching hate against any group of real existing people. The former is not PC, a personal verbal attack, bad taste but part of EVE as far as I understand it. The later is hate-speech, real world politics, considered a crime by the law of some countries and there is no room for that in the game.

Tell that to the folks that run the Broadcast 4 Reps group. Or one of a hundred other similar initiatives.

There's a very big difference between people being anti-semetic and people who just don't care about being politically correct.

We make jokes about jewing it up all the time. It's not anti-semetic because it's simply a joke made with light intent, not with hatred or malice.

You will need a MUCH thicker skin to survive this game.

What is antisemitism?

Antisemitism is the term used when people are prejudiced against Jews just because they are Jewish. Antisemitism is a modern racial term that was invented in 1879 by a German journalist called Wilhelm Marr. However, anti-Jewish feelings are much older than that.

About 2,000 years ago, Jesus, according to the story in the Gospels, was executed for treason. He was crucified, which was the Roman method of execution. Christian teaching did not blame the Romans; it blamed the Jews. As his followers later regarded Jesus as God, so killing him became known as the crime of ‘deicide’ (killing of God). This was the basis of Jew hatred.

Playing a online game has nothing to do with religions we have outside of a game. So keep your personal belief out of the game & people will not offend you. Same for gender or any other kinda aspect of real life, leave all that behind. Play the game , & have fun. If you feel the need to open up to players, make sure its a friend & not someone you have no ideas about.

If you act like a victim Trolls will play on it. Ignore comments & just play the game or pod them.
If a person doesn't leave you alone, hit the "block button" , don't make a fuss, if they log onto a alt & still try to wind you up, then report them for harassment. Case closed.

EVEBoard ...Just over 60million skill points, each skill was chosen for a reason. I closed my eyes & clicked another skill to train... "BINGO...!!!" ... "This time i got something usefull"

Easily offended? You should not be here, these folks will not only call you a name they will then blow you and your stuff to pieces. Cool thing about this game is everybody is here, Russians, Japanese, Germans, Americans and the list goes on. You think your offended in English, how about when Local Chat fills up with languages and alphabets you ain't never seen before? Guaranteed they are not inviting you to tea. Lighten up, have fun.

Way back in the day in Star Wars Galaxies there was a wookiee named Jewbacca. I thought it was the greatest name ever. People reported him and said his name was anti semitic. The guy that had the character was in fact Jewish but they still made him change his name. He named the character Bountywookie24 and was the only character in SWG to ever have a number in his name.
Its sad how people can find all sorts of things wrong with nothing.

We need a giant meteor to come and wipe out all complex life on earth. A fresh start. The human race has devolved into something so pathetic, that we need mommy and daddy CCP to protect us from having our feelings hurt.

It's everywhere I look now. I never thought I would become that disgruntled old man, but here I am, 27 years old, and I feel like I've completely lost touch with what's happening with the world.

And to the OP, I hope this is a forum alt of yours, because people will come and hunt you down just for the lolz, and they already know they are going to extract some sweet tears. Hell, I'm considering it myself.

In my 5 weeks in EVE I didn't notice any. But I'm not a Jew, so maybe I'm just a careless ignorant.
My name is kinda disrespectful (i.e. a pun) to the trekkie community - do I have to care what trekkies may think about in worst case?
What I noticed: There are some rude discussions in particular chats, but I still didn't notice any mocking or even insults about religion or origin or even language. (Just those periodic "please join the russian channel" posts after some cyrillic blocks of text appear in the newbie forum Blink )
But anyway, sociologist claim that in a community of 50k users every day there are statistically about 100 a**holes and 500 morons. Bad luck if you meet just these...

I havent come across anti-semitism in game myself, except how people jokingly call making isk 'jewing', which I feel is kind of funny.

I felt inclined to help you when reading this as I have been fighting anti-semitism in my professional life in the past. Then I noticed your last sentence demonizing the entire community here. That was very low of you. Goodbye sir, good luck in any other game you find.

Atleast SOE enforced strict rules and respect and didn't allow behaviors like ccp does.. ccp still has a very long way to go on how to deal with trolls.. and one such step is to begin strictly enforcing perm. forum bans and game ban hammers.

RIP SWG.. no one has came even close to you still to this day.
