Information Request For 3 Box Setup

Hi All,

I've been running level 4 missions for quite a few years doing different strategies including blitz and full-clear. Thus I'm pretty comfortable with what works in that regard (including burners as well). Most of the time I did this with one or two accounts as well.

I've moved up to three accounts and have several scenarios in mind for pve:

1a. Pull missions with one character and just do faster blitz with all ships in the same room (or set up 3 missions and swap fleet leader warp for each mission). If I'm feeling lazy, use two semi-afk ships with auto-target missiles and one ship as the main.

1b. Similar to 1a) except run each missioner independently (pros are probably more money, con is a bit more effort, but not much)

2. Just get setup to do incursions (probably just dps) with all three ships. I used to do incursion logi, so I'm a bit familiar with them.

3. Level 5's, I think I did one level 5 before they removed them from high sec, so I would have to research that more. From what I understand, level 5's may be a bit nerfed (as they now spawn caps more often? ).

4. Get into low/null/wh stuff, of which I have a good amount of experience with low pvp but not much in the pve department (apart from doing FW missions a looong time ago).

My request for those with 3 accounts, what have you found to be optimal? I think the conservative approach is probably 1b as that balances time with effort well, and level 4 blitzing is reasonably good. (It's also a bit more kid friendly, as in when I need to hop off briefly to deal with children).

I appreciate the feedback.

Cheers,
Neb

Considering your RL situation, 1b would be the way to go. 1a is less efficient simply because it requires three times the number of warps/jumps, since you are making all 3 alts travel to the same sites.

Another option would be to triple-box Burners in nullsec, taking advantage of the ridiculous value of pirate LP along with truesec-boosted LP gains per mission. The standard compromise between disposability, practicality, and isk/hr efficiency is to run sites with two Daredevils + one Kitsune. I have no experience in this myself so i can't really help you here other than highlight the fact that it is "a thing".

However, you probably should avoid low/null/WH PvE and incursions in general unless you can commit completely to EVE while you play.

Thanks for the response Muff, I agree that running concurrent tasks with the mission alts is probably the best approach. Then I can group them together if needed for easier burner running.

I did read a bit about the null burner missions which might not be a bad approach either. 2 DD put out some good dps for sure. I actually run a kitsune with my high sec frigate team burners. Makes life much easier.

1a. you will spend so much time in warp using 3 clients to run one mission is just going to be an inefficient click fest.

1b. this is a good method. I've been playing around with cap stable setups and can pretty easily dual box 2 characters. if I had a 3rd monitor I'd try 3. the cap stable setups are also disconnect and kid friendly. Fits and some ideas on the new forums, still a bit work in progress, have some room to improve the fits:

3 & 4, can't really comment on incursions or lowsec stuff, looks like multiboxing FW missions would be pretty good money as long as you have the standings to run for the winning side. I'm thinking of starting a few new accounts to grind standings with each of the FW corps so I can freely move around and chase the LP.

It is much more efficient to just get specific ships/fits for clearing Burners than triple-boxing daredevils + kitsunes as a Silver Bullet setup that can clear several different burners. The main reason people triple-box to clear nullsec burners is because it allows you to use disposable T2 fits, and also if you're good enough at multiboxing you can fend off casual solo dictor gatecamps.

If you're interested, Burners run for Guristas/Serpentis/Sansha are worth 60-70 mil a pop in liquid isk + LP, more than twice the value of Burners run for SoE in Lanngisi. But to be honest you'd probably be better off doing 1b in Lanngisi, it is way safer and less hassle. And it's potentially more lucrative since 3 alts can clear 3 burners simultaneously pretty easily in highsec while 3 alts will only be clearing 1 burner at a time in null, unless you find a way to do 1b in nullsec safely.

Thanks again all.

Some additional comments on point 1). (Note I run a triple monitor setup so mileage may vary in terms of convenience).

The barghest is a solid all around ship and I've fallen in love with it (other than the hull price). I use that along with marauders and the mach. I do like barghest damage type flexibility, and if using a rhml fit, the dps is really nicely lined up with most mission blitzes. Also you rarely have to count volleys (given missile velocity). Cruises are nice on the barghest as well, but I like the rhml. Another positive note is that the barghest can fit triple warp rigs without much negative impact. (Can do that on the mach too of course depending on comfort level for dps impact).

I found that if I'm feeling lazy, I will just pull missions and set up 2 accounts to use auto-target missiles while the "main" account uses specific targeting (whether that is a mach, another bargh with rages, or a slow tach mf paly). This I call a fun setup because it's just fire away and watch the explosions (with minimal effort).

Now if I want effort then 1b with individual targeting on each client is definitely the way to go.

Of course, mission hub is also somewhat important too. I moved away from Lanngisi for a bit to try something different, but it does get somewhat obnoxious when they put burner missions 5 jumps out Roll. There are other positive merits of other hubs though beside burner proximity I've found.

Neb
