Just received the limited version today, and it's absolutely stunning., and enormous. There's a lot of detail in it for Amarrian characters. The amount of content is amazing. I purchased the book for the information more so than the art, and I wasn't disappointed. The creators obviously put a lot of detail and work into it.

I was surprised to discover the Tristan was designed by a cannibal who killed dozens of people.

The aluminum Rifter plate is gorgeous. I love how heavy the thing is. What's the code on it for?

I'm thinking about buying the book by itself, would you recommend it without all the limited edition extras?
Also how thick is the book?

Who cares about frigates tho.
Peak amarr design aesthetics start and end with maller, Oracle, apocalypse, abbadon, revelation, Providence.

All the other amarr ships need overhauls

Really glad to hear that you like it, Will Burns, CCP t0rfifrans and myself put more than a year of very long hours into it, and it was amazing to collaborate with Max for his short story. Once again CCP Delegate Zero also completely knocked it out of the park with his story too Big smile

It's the most intensive writing and research project I've ever been involved in, but the crazy number of hours were so worth it for all of us when we were shipped the first copies just before Fanfest.

Great to hear you're enjoying it. Sorry about the cannibalism. Blink

Both books are 160 pages and both have the same content inside, however the standard hardcover doesn't come with the additional extras or the in game items Smile

Dimensions of the standard hardcover are: 235x315x20mm

Dimensions of the clamshell for the limited edition are: 260x345x60mm

Hope this helps!

Seconding the OP. Got mine a few days ago. Haven't done more than flip through it but what I've seen is amazing. Tons of lore, awesome cross-sections.

Really reminds me of the Incredible Cross-Sections and Star Wars Complete Guide to Vehicles and Vessels books that I grew up on as a kid, and I would say the production quality on this is at or above the level of those. Absolutely no regrets on grabbing this.

Plus I bought it and then sorta forgot about it, and it managed to show up at the end of a pretty rough month as a very nice surprise. Perfect timing :)

Now I'm hoping you all do one for the Cruisers and Battleships once the visuals for those hulls are in a better state.

Thanks a ton for all the time and effort that went into this o7

I'm a non-fiction writer who dabbles in fanfic for other games, so I know how exhausting it can be. It's very impressive.

As for how large it is, besides the dimensions, it's suitable for display and coffee table display. It's not small. It's the same dimensions as the Eve Universe Art Book. The collector's version comes in a box that resembles a tome. It's enormous, the case, book and dossier case are bound in leatherette good for signatures. I have it sitting on my bar and it definitely is noticeable. The book itself and its contents are the best part, even though the extras are very cool. It's definately something an Eve roleplayer would want as reference, a Sci-Fi fiction reader would want, or a science buff who plays Eve, and any Eve collector will want because they do go out of print. It doesn't cover pirate faction frigates, so don't expect that.

Frigates are the bread and butter of the game. Not only in Factional Warfare but every new player starts off in a frigate and one of the best fleets in the meta is interceptor-only (of which the best FC I have flown with in that composition is DBRB). On the 0.0 ratting side of things, sure, frigates are irrelevant, but for defense, a frigate is the cheapest and best way to perform home defense or run FW gangs.Frigates are still in use everyday even by seasons PvPers.

I think there may be some confusion about this that can be clarified due to the way ships are layed out, (ship tree) The book treats the frigates as hull-by-hull, not type-by-type, so it covers Covert Ops and Interceptors as well - such as the Anathema and the Retribution for example as variants.

Some of the top streamers in the game fly frigates - punishers etc. My personal favorite is the Tormentor.

Basically a win for CCP all around while the rest of the game is in an uproar about the mining nerfs. :)

Just went on a 150 man Tristan sloshop last night under Merkelchen, I told them about the trivia, they did think it was funny. I think the biggest reason for buying the book is as a conversation starter. I don't have a problem with starting conversations but in my alt's alliance it is very difficult to know something new about the game that no one else does.

It seems I got my book early, a lot of others haven't received theirs as of last night.

Good! It was in bad taste.

Also, anybody remembers that Tristan had a nickname "fat man"?

Yes, I did! Somewhere in the chronicles or the books. I read all of the chronicles over the winter the first month I played. I think it's in there, but it could be in Templar One, I own the audiobook version, so I can't search it.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

Ah! The obvious place. Never would have guessed that.

If you ask me, it's the only ship in the game that also resembles a you-know-what instead of a you-know-what but they certainly couldn't put that in the book. Anyways, it's a handsome ship.

Just got mine today via Amazon. I was surprised by the Inquisitor's Carthium Conglomerate "Paladin VII" Nanite Projection Maintenance Subsystem. Really thought it would be at least a "Paladin VIII" or maybe a X. Lol

Limited edition also comes with that cloth condor blueprint. It's very high quality. If you know a frame-maker, get it framed and hang it somewhere. It's that good.

A Minmatar warship is like a rusting Beetle with 500 horsepower Cardillac engines in the rear, armour plating bolted to chassis and a M2 Browning stuck on top.

I got mine a couple of weeks ago. I completely forgot I had ordered it until I got the email notifying me it had shipped. The book is beautiful as are all of the extras.

I do have one question though; the metal Rifter plate has some mathematics formula at the top and it is written with symbols I do not recognize.

Does anyone know what this is relates too? Or a translation of the formula so I can at least do the math and solve the dang thing. This is almost keeping me up at nights. A nagging question.
