I would like to thank ISD Buldath, King of the Forums! Knight of the General Discussion, for choosing me as his champion. He provided great feedback and training on the Sisi test server before this match. I had a chance to test out some fits and work on a strategy that would suit my style for the match. We knew that there were ways to counter what I had chosen to use but showed great confidence that I would succeed. Working within the confines of the Arena boundary (125km) was a factor as well.

I would highly recommend anyone who has an opportunity like this to take it! The folks here in Crime and Punishment used to run their own Thunderdome matches and it seemed to be a great event. With encouragement maybe this sort of thing can continue to challenge those willing to participate. I know I would.

The first match would see my Typhoon Fleet Issue vs/ Dom Arkarel and his Domi. I was unable to break the shield tank of the ship, however I knew I frustrated Dom with Sensor Damps and he was unable to land any damage on my Phoon. A draw.

For the next round, I chose a Scorpion Navy Issue. Dom chose a Tempest Fleet Issue.

I had a similar kiting fit, albeit a much slower ship with a robust shield tank. Once again I was unable to break his tank within the first 10 minutes. We were informed that we would see reverse TIDI (increasing the speed). I knew that I had to make something happen while still able to manage the controls, so I burned towards the center to close range (44:45 in the video) and see if I could apply some energy neuting. I dropped ec-300 drones Twisted and engaged. Dom quickly attacked now that he was within targeting range!

We traded some good damage as the game began to speed up. I got my neut cyles in and then burned away to gain some range again. I almost overshot and broke the boundary (125km) before I turned and maintained the distance from the beacon.
Nearly gave that one away!

With the increasing speed (3.5x) it became nearly impossible to manage the ship so I was happy to just orbit and apply damage. Dom began losing shields, armor and then I heard "structure" from ISD Buldath and knew it was a victory!!! GF!
