Burner Mission 3 Ship Fleet

Are there any safe 3 ship fleets that can handle most if not all Burner missions without reshipping?

Or maybe the least amount of required frigates to safely complete all burner missions?

Was thinking 1 ECM and 2 DPS/Tank but not sure if 3 same fit frigs would be better or adding logi to the mix.

friends did it in Kitsune (max skills) + daredevil (DPS + passive tank). Sometimes they lost those ships, because of Jam failure.

Yeah that's what I am afraid of. I was hoping a 3 ship advantage would make it safe with minimal ship loss.

I've done a bunch of theory crafting for multi ship burner running, but never actually got around to it.

triple daredevil should blast through anything before it becomes a problem, heck a solo DD mostly does that. Will probably want to swap hardeners to suit whatever you are fighting at the time. with 3 of you, should all be able to run web, ab, cap injector, and an acceptable tank. And with 3 of you you can use cheaper webs, and use piloting to catch ships like the succubus, or daredevil that sit a few km out of 10km web range. Not sure how the worm would go with that setup, might want an MWD fit too, hopefully whoever lands in first and gets aggro can pull the worm into the other two and get it locked down then everyone comes in and blasts away. Also not sure how the cruor would go, high em/therm damage and nos. A wolf can deal with the damage pretty easily thanks to t2 minmatar resists, but not sure how well a DD's cap would hold up. Might want to throw on a cap battery for whoever is the first in, could probably just swap the AB for a small cap battery.

if you want to keep it cheap just stash a bunch of assault frigs and use whatever lines up with the resists. Could probably also go with a drone swarm setup, burners like to shoot at drones and throwing 15 drones at it (or 6 super worm drones) will probably kill it faster than it can do any real damage, will probably kill a few drones before they go down, but drones are ammo.

And running with the multi ship group, it's very easy to kite the team burners and use ECM on the logi, maybe you want a griffin/kitsune for those missions, and then 2 DD to blaster rush the AF. or you can just all use kite ships with a few ECM mods.

Looking at losses to burners I see a lot of proper fits, but wrong hardeners. I assume they are multiboxing and have one ship for each of the missions they are taking, and it looks like an aggro swap can easily kill a ship with the wrong tank. Either that or they just brought the wrong ship/setup. It's also very possible most losses are to disconnects. There is a group of 4 tristan losses, which I can only assume was to a disconnect because they should have easily been able to kite the burner.

Hey thanks for the informative response.

I think I will try the over tanked druged approach and then back off from there.

I think you misunderstood his goal.

he wants to have a 3-man fleet that can actively chain the missions without reshipping. eg take 3*3 = 9 bruner missions in a hub, do the missions that are close together, and then get the 9 rewards.
That means no drone eating strategy, no hardener swap.

I saw a video on youtube with a dps and a repper. had to be careful of aggro switch but seemed correct. in null.

zkill has plenty of losses where the ship is using the wrong hardeners, I assume these are those people chaining the missions without changing their fits in between. It is clearly possible, just not the safest way to do things. changing hardeners is a good safety step, but can be hard in low/null. I suppose you could drop a mobile depot in each mission, and refit in the deadspace before going to the next one. that would probably be the safest way to do things as the have to probe you and then only frigates can enter.

I have no idea how often remote reps draw aggro. having a logi frig would certainly be an interesting option. Am playing around with a decon fit in pyFA and it looks like it can have enough local tank to live if it gets aggro, also it can squeeze in a medium cap battery so it has a ton of cap and resistance to neuts so the cruor shouldn't be a huge issue. A cap boosted setup would be interesting as that would free up a ton of fitting room for a mwd. 2 logi frigs seems like overkill, but would be a very safe way to run burners.

Probably worth looking at the gallente logi frig, that way you can run a prop mod, cap booster, and a small cap battery, or maybe a double small battery fit would be decently cap stable?

Looks like you could have the two dps ships go first, and then have the logi come in and kite the burner after it gets hit by 90% webs.

The typical "silver bullet" setup is two Daredevils and a Kitsune. I have an example fit for the DDs but not the Kitsune.

[Daredevil, multi-DD]
Micro Auxiliary Power Core I
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
IFFA Compact Damage Control

5MN Y-T8 Compact Microwarpdrive
Caldari Navy Medium Shield Extender
Fleeting Compact Stasis Webifier

Light Ion Blaster II
Light Ion Blaster II
Small Remote Hull Repairer I

Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II
Small Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer II
Small Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer II

Void S x1740
Null S x1000
Caldari Navy Antimatter Charge S x1000
Nanite Repair Paste x75

Yes, it's shield-buffered: This is the low/null-sec version so it needs to be fast to avoid roaming gangs/camps.

You'll need to test the setup and develop your own strats. I can only give you some general advice:

- The Kitsune should OH its ECM on the first 1/2 cycles.
- DDs should also OH their guns vs everything and web vs. whatever burner rats pull out of range.
- MWDs should always be running once the kitsunes land a successful ECM.
- This setup will probably not work on the Bases, Guristas Agent, or Blood Raider Agent.

*** I don't run this setup because it's slower and less efficient than having multiple purpose-fit ships (and multiple solo alts) for running Burners, but hey, it can run "most" of them without refitting and people seem to like that idea a whole lot. All I know is that this is the de-facto DD that people use in null-sec, and they've been running Burners for a lot longer than me, so I figure they must know what they're doing.
