Porpoise and procurer or procurer & procurer mining team?

Long time ago I use to have 2 characters running on one machine and mined, since that time and all the changes im not sure which would be more advantageous a boosting porpoise and procurer combo or 2 procurers team, so setup would be

Procurer T-2 fitted with mining drone 1.
And (fitted for tank).
Porpoise T-2 mining drones.

Or fully fitted T-2 procurers with T-2 mining drones (fitted for max tank).

Which would burn down a field in a timely manner?

Porpoise is more convenient because of its large ore hold, but it I think it harvests less than a strip.

The boosts don't affect drones, so only the ship bonuses apply to the Porpoise.

The boosts to the other ship would have to meet or exceed the difference.

I'm too lazy to do the math (with max skills it looks like a 38.67% cycle reduction which is less than 50% for another ship, but do the drones cover 11.32%?)

this is what fitting tools were made for, I don't know what your boosting skills, mining skills, or drone skills look like

at max skills

porpoise with 5 minning drones II and a mindlink 41,766 m3/hr
proc with t2 strips, 2 t2 MLU, and 5 mining drone II 118,764 m3/hr

proc with no boosts 83,537 m3/hr

I'd think the setup with the porpoise would end up winning, just because you can fill up the ore bay and use that as a hauler, the 2 proc setup would have to run back to station pretty often

I was thinking the same, probably going to go with that.

My memory may be faulty, but I seem to remember that using a Porpoise to boost your fleet I calculated you need four mining ships to make it viable, but iirc I didn't consider hauling time and I think I based it on ventures rather than barges. My thinking at the time was that if your fleet is barge-based you should use an orca for boosting.
