The new sun effect is stunning ! Unfortunately we have no reason (except looking at them) going to suns.
Why not having missions, data sites, or DED complexes spawn close to suns ?

I always regretted that missions for example are never located close to planets, and now suns.

That is a great idea, seeing your body floating near the sun.

Thats, true. I wish that there was some sort harvest station or something to grab Isotopes ejected by the star. That would give a good reason to go to the star.

Its Pretty but t havent been to the star in 5 years except to see new animation..... THATS IT, what a waste

No cuts, no butts, no coconuts!

1) There are no "suns". There are stars.
2) They are really hot. Why would you want to get close to them? Your ship would melt.

Yep, thanks for correcting.
What about a BBQ near the Jita "star" this coming week-end ?
We could call it "Burn Jita Sausages"

The main reason people go to the sun is to escape, it's an easy to find celestial when they have to GTFO.

That's also the same reason you find plenty of action around stars when you leave High Sec. Evil

I do as well. It's particularly effective with neuts in local.

Ohh I need to actually look at one.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

While there is no direct game mechanic in relation to stars, a lot of players use them for various activities including:

  1. A warp out point (usually to get a capsule out of a combat area if they are going to die.
  2. A central point to make book marks for often safe spots.
  3. A location to be used as a regroup point
  4. A location to drop probes for scanning
  5. Many other reasons.........

  6. Oh and most importantly, the honourable 1 vs 1 duel Twisted

Make coronal mass ejections that randomly come out through systems and if you get hit you blow up.

Environments hazards ftw. Random comets, asteroid/ship collisions.

1v1s should be in special belts that appear as ship graveyards from ancient battles randomly spread out.
Interference from the wreckage blocks dscan, cynos, and only one ship can be locked at a time.
If the ship is locked by one ship it can't detarget to allow a friend to jump in.
Once you target or get targeted you either fight or get out of target range. So no logis.

You have landmarks, belts, ice belts and now occasionally in systems graveyards for the brave only.

Random comets sometimes show up in my plex. It usually happens when someone else shows up in local too. Do you think there is a correlation between random comets showing up and people entering local?
