just received a mail with the following:

i know that the words "on the house" and "forever" are pretty strong and imply that you get something for free. which eve now is to some extent. but does this mail mean that i just am able to play EVE like every other f2p player? if so.. well, i got mails for that and information, too.

somehow i thought that this would mean some lifelong omega sub, which would be crazy tbh.

anyway. i am curious. this thing just came out of nowhere. please help me understand the context. :)

Alpha accounts are limited to their faction’s tech one weapons, ships and navy ships. You can find out more information here.

If at any point, you decide to re-subscribe and become an Omega clone, you will unlock access to all of your previously trained Omega skills, and you will be able to train new ones.

In the past CCP has given old inactive accounts mails and deals to get back into the game. 9 and 14 days free subs as well as reduced priced deals. Ive received a few over the years. This one was interesting to say the least as well. And yes kind of a bait and switch sort of marketing but then again thats what marketing is all about.Twisted

Yeah, I received it for one account and was kinda puzzled about the "you're part of history" thing and the "on the house" part (eventually I figured they were talking about alpha, as in "it's free"), but the only thing I made for history was to hold several acounts. Is that what it takes? What?

What I don't understand is why a different character who redeemed the pod skin, has received a mail reminding to redeem the pod skin? Question

Anyway is not as if EVE marketing makes much sense at this point, it would take something dramatically good to make me play EVE again: a feeling "oh my God, that's IT, and I am MISSING it!". BearBlink

Yeah, I was thinking "yeah, this would be sweet, Free to play, you buy skins and add-on's is how they make money now, and I can see what new stuff they've put in........"
