16 orange thrashers = no-go on mission?

I hopped one jump over from my home station to go run a mission in my Marauder. After jumping, about 3,600k off the gate were 16 thrashers in my overview. 15 were orange, 1 was flashy yellow.

That just didn't look right. I would imagine properly fitted, those little guys could smack down even a well-tanked PvE setup. I decided to MWD right back to the gate and GTFO to my home station. The fact there were 16 clustered is a coordinated op. Kill-rights mean they're killing ppl.

The right call to go home and try again later?

Whoa - also checked dotlan. That system and a neighboring one has spiked with kills.

Sounds like a Ministry of Love operation to me. You didn't check their allegiance, did you?

Sometimes they invite us common line-goons too - those days I'm glad for my 'matar heritage that allows me to come in person.

The basic message they are conveying translates to:
"don't waste your time in highsec, join the Imperium and do awesome stuff"

I saw some pandemic horde's all flashy red yesterday near some gank hub. Must've been having fun.
