Eve is such an old game that you could run it on a normal laptop quite easily, but it is safer to get a better laptop than needed. That laptop build that you have there should safice because of the ram and the processor, not 100% sure though im not a laptop gooroo

EVE has never been a particularly demanding game in terms of hardware. I use a barebones 2015 MacBook Air with 4gb or RAM (not exactly a gaming system) and it never misses a beat. The fan spins up when I'm scanning, but that's about it. Of course I also keep the graphics pretty low. However, I also have a desktop that's not much more powerful than the system you listed and it runs everything with the graphics set to high.

Get whatever laptop makes sense for you. EVE will run well on just about anything you get (within reason).

Do you use the new map? From my experience the new map is more demanding than the old map. And so is the hacking interface. It's weird because everything else in the game is fine, my computer only struggles with the scanning and hacking UI.

The specs themselves aren't necessarily an issue but as stated above, you aren't just buying for now but also for the future: EVE's requirements might increase, your play style in EVE might require better performance and perhaps any other games you might want to play. The video card and cpu might cause issues at some point.

More importantly, running EVE at that resolution is going to be horrible and not just EVE. Windows itself or any program you run at 1366x768 is something you don't want to have to do for any extended period of time.

Good catch. I missed that. Those are some pretty horrendous resolution numbers for a 15.6' display. That could definitely be an issue.

I do use the new map, but not extensively. I tend to rely on Dotlan.

O rly?

Intel (R) HD Graphics 3000 here, on a Dell Satellite. I can't boogie in New Eden unless some tech ninja knows a workaround. Double the processing power than my last comp that ran the game though.

I only post here if EvE is offline. Which means my posts are never well timed.
