I think this one is best.

- most "forward thinking" for the future of the game and potential features
- showing multiple facets of Eve play (which are but mere memories nearly forgotten now Sad )
- left a lot of "WTF" and "What if" to the ending

What ever happened to this "prophecy" anyway?

What's your favorite trailer and why?

This is Eve (because of overall-awesomeness) and Eve Origins (I like lore, especialy if it gets presented in such a good way) that later got the new Intro are some of my favorites. But they had many very good trailers, so it's a hard pick.

I also liked the Inferno trailer very much. I think mostly because the "coldblooded" narrator does such a good job. But i think it was overall one of the less popular trailers.

Edit:

I think they call these types of Trailers "vision" trailers. Like this one for Dust and captainsquarters Eve: A Future Vision

Nothing you really can expect to happen (in the near future or ever), just the Vision. CCP confirmed at Fanfest that their goal is still to make Player built stargates, so this part of the trailer could actualy become true.

There are quite a few really good trailers. But even though graphics are outdated by todays standard, I still like the Empyrean age trailer best.

Remove standings and insurance.

That trailer is unique in that it has a novel connected to it. If the novel were made into a movie that same trailer could be the trailer for the movie.

Dominion was by far the most wide-reaching expansion as far as storyline development is concerned.

Also superweapons are fun to watch.

I kind of think they suck, and I'm NOT trolling. The reason I say this is the heavy use of "avatars", it's misleading to potential consumers about the in-game. Not to raise the separate issue of CQ, but if there was more avatar engagement they don't suck at all.

I only post here if EvE is offline. Which means my posts are never well timed.

I feel bad for not even thinking of this. We need this with today's graphics! EVE Never Fades v2.0

The reason I joined New Eden was my cousin (a huge sci-fi freak) was crapping on about the ships. If that angle was adopted for the trailers they're less distasteful and misleading as ads. I just watched all hotlinked in the thread. They reek of big tobacco style marketing to be honest. This is genius however. I love it when we doxx ourselves to the community. CCP are rockstars, they should market that instead of relying on bad CGI like Lucas remastering his crap.

This trailer stands out to me as definitive of eve, no other game embraces chaos in the same way.

This post brought to you by CCP's alpha forum alt initiative. Playing the eve forums has never come cheaper.

Nope. Those old graphics are iconic.

They also are a good example why new tech doesn't automatically mean that the graphics are getting better.

FInally someone mentioned it.

It is by far the best, even though it is not an official eve trailer, it still gives me the shills.

The other trailers seems cringy to me.

Ditto. "This is EVE" is an impressive piece about what EVE can become if you're lucky enough. (BTW, does anyone else remember how CCP tried to exploit it with a contest featuring player-submitted entries? The contest was won by a Korean trailer which was essentially a copy of This is EVE, just in Korean language...)

Yet, nothing gets ahead of "EVE never fades" and its haunting mix of images and music. Even now, I would like to play that game... Lol

What happened to that "prophecy"? !!CCP!!, that's what happened. Player owned gates and the new space behind them have been delayed to sometime around 2020 at best, due to the glacial development pace of previous player owned structures.

Also, right now the latest vibe from Fanfest is that CCP could be studying how to phase out / replace Sovereignty altogether after the less-than-success of AegiSov, so probably they'll be busy with nullsec (again) in 2018-19, further delaying the "prophecy".

And IMO EVE won't last long enough to afford the development of that content... What?

This is Eve-- for actual player comms

Crucible-- for using in-game action instead of cut scenes

(I am biased to showcasing the game itself)

HTFU (music video)-- should be required watching before posting a rant about how ganking is against the EULA

Honorable mentions:
--A Future Vision, showcasing the integration of Dust 514 with Eve
--I Was There, it gets mocked but in actuality it was a pretty good trailer
--Inferno, just a solid cutscene with good cinematography

I keep saying, and have said for years: remove all nullsec SOV mechanics and let the players work it out.
