Hey everyone,

Long time no see this eve forum. old 2015 player who spent countless hours playing this game. I am looking to do a comeback but I am lacking something call: Time. (With my child and work, I am looking at 10 hours per week. Average.

So my main goal is to mine myself out of asteroids and a little PVP.

I have a few questions tho that I need answers.

1- How much time to you spend to buy your plex? Is it possible to mine yourself a plex in 0.0 or it would be simpler to farm NPCs?

2- Is the restriction for Alpha clone really that tight? is it possible to have fun?

3 - How is the 0.0 war and stuff?

Thanks to everyone reading! See you soon in-game (Also I might be looking for a corp)

We get this question a lot, often from new players, so the following is just info. Not telling you how to play or why. That's totally up to you.

In general, unless you have a Rorqual and fleet support, mining is one of the worst ISK/hr activities in the game. You'll end up grinding just to pay for a PLEX so you can grind some more.

30-40 hours of mining, just so you can continue to mine.

How much do you earn in RL in 30-40 hours?

If the answer is more than $15 a week, then if you have any disposable income, you'll have a much more enjoyable time spending $15 a month (50 cents per day) and just subscribing to the game.

Then, anything you do in game is ISK you can use to have fun with, rather than just to have the pleasure of continuing to grind.

PLEXing accounts through active play is a short ride to burnout. It's something better achieved with near passive income sources (eg. moons, PI, etc.).

2- Is the restriction for Alpha clone really that tight? is it possible to have fun?

That's a bit subjective. Sure it's possible. I enjoy it, just for the change. Being restrictied forces choices I don't have to otherwise make on my other characters. I find that fun, but different strokes for different folks.

Alphas can certainly be competitive, at least in terms of outplaying others.

3 - How is the 0.0 war and stuff?

Good. A little quiet right now, but lots of fleets about.

10 Hours per week is a lot, its basically 5 hours for 2 weekend days. Enough time to earn for PvP on alpha doing some FW plexing and exchanging LP to stuff you can sell. PvP comes to those who plex in FW.

I didn't think of it that way, Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the matter. Unfortunately, this account only has a miner trained with exhumers V. Altho I could use the time in free mode to start training some basic PVP skills.

Otherwise, I would need to find some Mining/Indus corp and hope for mining fleet to be able to mine out a nice chunk of isk.

Thanks again!

I have never tried FW, I will need to do some research on this subject. Thanks for sharing!

If you feel like it, you could cruise around in an Alpha char for a while. I did that for a few weeks and had good fun hanging with the new guys. They're so enthusiastic, and a few hints help a lot with going up the step learning cliff. (Of course I cheated and transferred a few mil ISK grubstake from my Omega to the Alpha).

Big news of 0.0 since you 2015-- Goons got booted out of null and their coalition collapsed, about this time last year. Was called World War Bee. It's old news now, but still a pretty huge event in the history of the sandbox.

I might do that, do you know a few channels I could hangout to speak with people doing FW and start learning?

If you join an FW faction, you automatically go into the faction's Militia chat channel. There are people of all levels of experience in there. (Also spais from the enemy faction.) FW's great if want to be casual, but also get into low sec and do some PVP. You can make isk doing solo stuff, and end up PVPing solo, or you can get into pick-up militia fleets and do roams. Or you can join and FW corp and do more organized things.

Currently the Gal-Cal war is very active, but Min-Amarr is active too. Much fun, and some profit.
