At a loss as to why I'm a Criminal and -4.9 status

Was stupid enough to be baited into fighting someone when I'm not a pvper. Long story short, CONCORD came along and blew me away.

My dilemma is that I'm in Gallente space, had an excellent status with them and suddenly am at -4.91 and can't leave the station with a ship.

When I look at my Character Sheet -> Standings, Gallente Federation is showing +3.67. I'm at a loss here. I'm not seeing anything that correlates with the -4.9 status...in the Liked by or the Disliked by tabs. And Gallente only shows up in the Liked by tab.

Can someone please explain what may be obvious, but I can't grasp?

Oh, and am I stuck working with Minmatar to bring my Gallente rep back up?

It's not your Gallente standing.

It's your Security Status -4.9

Be lucky not being -5 security status. You can still safely travel in your pod (or fast align ship, e.g. shuttle). For ~140M ISK you can buy clone soldier tags and restore your full mobility in highsec. https://www.fuzzwork.co.uk/sectags/

Mama, thank you for explaining the difference. That's what had me scratching my head. The link to Eve University was helpful also, after I read through it a couple times.

I'm beginning to understand why people say low sec is the better place to be.

And it's nothing bad, this char never enters highsec, I have alts for that and I have plenty of lowsec fun!

a tip for you if you want to keep this lifestyle make a second character for making money also for hauling stuff out to you and your loot back out to sell

Doesn't sound like you were baited into a fight, you were baited into doing something stupid. Basically baited into committing suicide. It isn't a fight if concord gets involved.

As a Concord agent, I would suggest you join a mediation program asap. Your clearly on the path of fun and piracy. That will not do.

iirc, this is no longer the case. used to be, but isn't now.

because people used to be concorded in concord space, with low sec status.

Wrong. I'm -10 and operate in ships in highsec all day long.

Of course, I've also got the Code on my side as well, which makes a difference.

This is no challenge, doing everything with one char is at least a bit of ... as I'm also trading in tags, I get mine to consume basically for free. P

Funny thing here, if you do a bit of mining on the side (so your minerals are free) and trade tags, pvp has no consequence on sec status and no cost either!
