Controlling salvage drones needs some love.

Please don't flame me if you think this is super low priority. I don't entirely disagree. My only goal is to help make Eve a better game.

I am a die-hard mission runner, and there are some crazy deficiencies in the handling of salvage drones. They're not bugs per se, but I would classify the current behavior as.... (sorry this sounds so negative)... a pretty significant design flaw.

The TL;DR is essentially this:

Could we please have two menu options for any set of (one or more) salvage drones:
- Salvage target
- Salvage all

(You may be attempted to say 'Set drones to aggressive' is an option, but I think this is too dangerous for mission runners who would constantly have to switch between aggressive for salvage drones and passive for combat drones.)

Please allow me to explain via some scenarios. Let's go with my current drone range of 54km.

If there are 9 wrecks, all less than 54km away, the only way I can auto-salvage all of them without having to babysit the drones is to either:
- Un-target _all_ of the wrecks, OR
- Target some non-wreck object, *within* 54 km, and tell them to salvage it. They won't salvage THAT target, but it WILL kick them into "auto-salvage mode". (Let's be honest - this is a bit non-intuitive.)

Even worse, if the only non-wreck target-able object is beyond my 54km, there's no way I can get the drones into auto-salvage mode without un-tageting *everything*, including the non-wreck target beyond 54km. (If I try to kick them into auto-salvage mode by attempting to salvage, say, a ship at 61 km, I'll get the message that this is beyond drone control range.)

I may be wrong, but I have been CRAVING the two menu options I describe above.

Unrelated, thank you for such an awesome game CCP.

Carry on.

I like this thread just for being the best explanation of the weird behavior of salvage drones and how to make them do what you want that I've ever seen... lol.

Ive had the same thought and it was the first time I used salvage drones.

I assumed they would just salvage all the wrecks around my MTU.
It's faster to just drop my mobile depot trade out my guns and salvage myself.
I didn't even bother calling back the drones and left them there, was a complete skilling into them and haven't used them since.

The Salvage All function takes place when you do not assign drones and select salvage. The drones will automatically salvage all of the wrecks within a close proximity to their location.

It's not just salvage drones which need work.
