Idea for; New Propulsion module for cloaky gameplay.

Just get rid of the penalty or lower it.
Cloaks are great just to many restrictions.
Pain to farm with one for protection cause it ruins targetting, and with any slow pve ship you can't move with one on.

Make a cloaked BC for pve or lessen the penalties which are unneeded.
Also there's no reason for alphas to not use t1 cloaks.
Alphas can't use cynos. So that whole argument is entirely moot. T1 cloaks are fine as is. They'd keep the 90% penalty and alphas could be viable in low/null

Alphas aren't supposed to be viable. They're supposed to be a replacement for the trial account, so players can decide if they enjoy the game and want to keep playing. They should never be viable as an endgame option, otherwise there is much less incentive to pay for the game.

Well you can't turn on any modules while the cloak is active for starters....


No, but you can as soon as you decloak (except targeted weapons unless you're a BLOPS). You can activate any defensive or prop module you please. You can also activate a cloak as soon as you uncloak from a gate, there's also the MWD/cloak trick, thus allowing remotely skilled pilots with a brain a chance to cloakywarp non covops ships.

Geez it's almost like not being able to shoot anything while cloaked is hardly an issue.

Um, that's the point?

Cloaks are super powerful and useful and enable a ton of things, namely removing yourself from functional contact with other players at the push of a button.

Hence all the drawbacks.

The whole reason Alphas can't use cloaks is to prevent the creation of quick and disposable scouts and AFK cloakers.
