I have a -5 standing with Gallente... How can I increase my standing?

Ok so I was a proper noob and did EVERY Caldari mission. It has resulted in a -5 standing with the Gallente Federation. I can't go into Gallente space to do missions for them to increase my standings...

I want to do the SOE epic arc but its located in Gallente space...

I have a tonne of Caldari Tags... Can I trade them for a standing increase?

How can I improve my standings with the Gallente without going into their space? Seems like a catch 22...

Any help would be appreciated.

train diplomacy, if you are at -5 unmodified lv1 will be enough to enter their space.

run soe missions, the derived standing gains are huge to gallente. How I did it, hardly hurt my cal/amarr standings too.

grind lv1s in safe faction space. (not a great option)

If only there was a sticky thread near the top where one could learn how to repair faction standings. If only!

Look for L1 Gallente Agents in Amarr or Caldari (I'm assuming you still are in good standing with them) space and run them until you get storylines. Run the storyline missions to improve your Gallente standings. Once you make it above -5, you can also run the SoE Epic Arc to get a hefty boost in a faction of your choosing, among the four main ones that is. Pick the Gallente Commander when asked who to support, then finish the Epic Arc to get the standings boost. While running regular missions, avoid missions against other Empire factions to keep them from sinking as well. Distribution missions (from Distribution Agents) are highly recommended for this task as they tend to take minutes at the most to run, so it takes little time racking up storyline offers.

Also, do you know how to use the Agent Finder? Look at the top of your NeoCom and click on the button above your character's portrait's thumbnail (it's like Window's Start button on the task bar). Look for Agent Finder. That can help you find agents closest to you that have all the characteristics you define by the drop-downs on the left and the level slider along the top of the window. Pick Gallente Federation under Faction and Distribution under Agent Type. Make sure the Agent Level slider at the top is on 1.

Train diplomacy. It's that easy...zero effort.

Then do SOE arc that way your caldari standings won't go down.

Thanks guys, diplomacy sorted me right out!

Had to train it to lvl 2 but i can now enter Gallente space without being shot at!

Doing the SOE Epic arc now, I will decline all faction missions from now on.

Yes indeed. If only there was a sticky thread near the top of this forum called 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' then people wouldn't have to post threads like this one.

In the future you might want to access Gallente level 2 and higher Agents. If so you'll need to get Gallente Faction above -2.00 standing.

If that's the case then I suggest you take a look at the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan'.

Or just bang out the SOE arc every 90 days. Then you won't need to lower your caldari standings.

Also, don't mission for filthy minmatar or frog eating gallente. They are a terrible, dirty, Godless group.
