Why do we get jump fatigue when taking jump bridges but not when using stargates?
(sorry if i give CCP any ideas for future features :P)

Because stargates have a massive amount of compensation equipment. That is why they are so big.

For arguments sake, regional gates take you farther than you could jump with a ship. It's obvious the gates are designed to facilitate movement of starships, versus ships with special jump drives that fling ship and pilot thru space to specific coordinates (cyno).

This is why. As if there was a point in asking why? Feels like a tongue-in-cheek "I hate jump fatigue" thread

I was watching Star Wars recently and it occurred to me, if you want to destroy a star system, you don't need a Planet Killer Starbase. All you need is a small Imperial Shuttle. Fly it into a star at beyond the speed of light and physics says that star will become a supermassive black hole (physics saying 'no' to FTL notwithstanding). You could even destroy the galaxy doing that.

Then I thought "lightsabers are cool... maybe I'm over thinking this."

The lore is constantly retconned and doesn't matter. However, at one point (who knows if this is still the lore considering how ridiculous the lore has always been) jump gates had to be built in binary star systems. I'd assume that the yada yada gravity, something something la grange points, blah blah technobabble, binary stars serve to power the stargates, where a jump bridge can't take advantage of the "path of least resistance" the natural landscape would provide, thus functioning the same as a ship-board jump drive, requiring fuel and having the consequences of fatigue. Likely the devs have put even less thought into it that than 1 sentence though.

Or you can throw all that in the trash where it belongs, the real reason is for game balance, and that's all that matters.

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.

There was a nice talk during fanfest by Max Singularity, which touches upon it:
