This is just a QoL change. Make alpha accounts unable to post in Jita local. Can be extended to other hubs if necessary.

It isn't typically the Alphas that spam in Jita. It's the Omega station traders.

Counter proposal:

Mute obsidian blacke on forums to prevent discrimination since alphas are by design indistinguishable from omegas by onlookers.
This is just a QoL change. Can be extended to other platforms if needed.

As they say a pro tip for you.
If the alphas in Jita bother you do not go to Jita.

-1 to your idea, it is so bad that the ISD and the auto nanny filter would not allow me to post what I really think so I will just leave it at this is a really bad idea.

If you are going to provide free intel by talking in local we are going to take advantage of it. It would be silly not to note who is in Jita with us.

Jita local was cancer before alphas, it really hasn't changed much since. so this change would do nothing.

People other than scammers actually read Jita local?

Interesting.

How about you stop doing whatever you like doing in eve? Answer is prolly no. I hate people like you who think it's all too easy. You prolly don't even do anything challenging in the game.

I feel that alphas should only be able to talk in local no private chat or email. And if they are undocked. This way they are out in the open and can be blown up. But this is extreme lol. Still funny to think about

You mean chatbots.

When you don't know the difference between there, their, and they're, you come across as being so uneducated that your viewpoint can be safely dismissed. The literate is unlikely to learn much from the illiterate.

A better step would be to give alphas read only access to the forums. Create 2 new subsections where alphas can post. One for technical game type help and one for alpha community type stuff. I'm OK with muting alphas in Jita local.

Big picture (my understanding) is that the whole point of the alpha character is to create a paying customer at some point down the road. If that is the point, then by all means limit them in ways that make them want to start paying to get full access to the game. Read only access to most of the forums would be a great start. It doesn't affect their actual game play but makes it clear that until they start funding the game and its further development they are second class space citizens.

Jita local access would be a step further as it has the potential to actually hurt their playing experience, but then again, if it's a tool that will move them to paying citizens then sure go for it.

What ever it takes to encourage alphas to fund the future of the game they are playing is OK with me. (Yeah, I'm one of those 'unfair' parents that doesn't believe in participation trophies).

It is the stated goal of alpha clones to be able to be connected with the community and their oher friends without feeling excluded.
So no.

On the original point, restrict local posts to 10 a minute first minute, 5 a minute second minute, 1 a minute third minute, still spamming? blocked for next 30 days unless reset with a capcha. Block the bots out once and for all.
