If I'll rat at all it will be in something PVP fitted. Never really liked minmaxing income at the expense of readyness and loss-capacity.

Cynabal probably.

I shot some blood raider skiff last night in my Oracle. I will no longer rat in that Oracle because I didn't think I should warp out when the Skiff I was shooting started warping away. Maybe I'll build another Oracle tho. It's active but your drones never die.

A Rorqual. Too soon?

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

considering if you aren't carrier ratting you would be making more money in highsec... plus having caps out and about is good for content creation.

Carriers still, maybe at slightly reduced profit. That would be my guess.

Aside from that, Rattlesnakes and VNIs are still popular even with Carriers being used a lot. Ishtars are still around, but not as much as pre-nerf. I still see Gilas quite a bit too, though also, not quite as much as pre-nerf.

Idk man the sig radius will make it near impossible to rat in carriers. LOTS of dead fighters. Not worth it.

You can still rat in a Carrier without losing Fighters, it just takes more attention. A slight change in fitting helps too. Example by suitonia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXxGlPBrWCA

More attention? I already play it like I'm in a PVP dogfight. There is no more attention to give. A lot of the time they get nearly alphad. By the time they return they are dead.

I thought you null-sec players loved a challenge? Twisted
(just ribbing you - I don't run carriers and even I don't like the changes)

A doable challenge. This is just dumb. As I said in an earlier post it wouldn't be near as stupid if fighters didn't slam on the brakes as soon as they kill their target.

Oh, you kids.

I remember the days when you'd count yourself lucky when your drones even managed to target, let alone attack, the target you wanted them to.

Nah not really dude you just have to keep them moving (read : you have to be good at carrier ratting instead of semi AFK) and not allow them to stop between targets. Have tested this on SiSi and have noticed only marginally more damage from rats as long as drones are never still Pirate

That's hard even if you are paying attention, Fighters don't attack on their own anymore, not sure how one semi afk uses them.

The spool down time on the main attacks are the problem. If a target dies mid cycle the fighters just stop until you can respool. These changes wouldn't be as bad if CCP fixed that nonsense.

I'll let you all in on a little secret

  1. Lock everything up
  2. F1 fighters on first target
  3. When it reaches structure, hold w and select the next target
  4. Fighters will go orbit the next target while finishing off structure
  5. Rine & Repeat

Fighters will take negligible damage and will stay moving a majority of the time
