We both know damned good and well that a lot of people, on both sides of the fence, are making a ton of money, with multiboxing. Do we all need to do that? Is that what it takes?...

If you just gave away 16 Billion ISK worth of stuff and have done it without multiboxing, then there's hardly much advantage in multiboxing.

16 Billion, oh poor you. The game is so unfair with cheats who multibox. You can hardly make any ISK at all.....well of course aside from 16 Billion in a short playing time.

If you want something like this to happen though you'd better be ready for a crap load of admin work, lol.

The amount of paperwork and logistics it takes to keep organizations in this game running is ridiculous. I'm honestly amazed some days.

Very much this.
And its not even the drudgery of such practical matters that is worst, its the inevitable, incessant interpersonal drama.

Though in my work as a nurse I am compassionate and understanding towards my patients without reservations, not for the pay but the calling, I really cba at all with interpersonal drama outside of it. Ill take a good, fair shot at sorting it, and if it fails, Ill just walk out of it.

Aaron, this project will have to be very much a labor of love, as your true meta in EVE, cos it certainly wont help your nerves or earn isk :D

Ill help when and how I can.

PS: I have no idea what this multiboxing nonsense is about.
I was a very vocal proponent of making key broadcasting illegal when it was an issue.
It was really, really bad back then.
I was concerned it may have become so endemic and widespread that upteen % of accounts would turn out to be broadcast alts.
Im glad EVE survived the change as well as it did, and was done before things got worse.

Hmmm, because of the nature of this I think it will be more relaxed. Remember we will be stepping away from the corp mechanic so it will be harder for people to target us, this will inspire a more relaxed and easygoing approach . Awoxers and trolls will be ignored and the community will be informed of who the awoxers are. I will check if FC's are awoxers

I'm not going to take this personally, I am here for the people who want to play eve, I am here for fun and tactical gameplay.

Honestly I don't feel there is much to sort, this is also a platform for missioners so some people may only be there to look for partners with pve.

With regard to fleet command I'm just glad people like dracvlad won't be involved to neg me out. I can revisit fleet commanding in a relaxed easy going environment along with all the other FC's. If you want more experience as an fc then I will be your wingman and support you in an honest, positive and constructive way.

Lack of corp mechanics will make all of us more vulnerable, not less.
Sure, no wardecs, but it wont be hard for spais to infiltrate and arrange suicide ganks on participants.
Trolls will show up en masse as a result of your reputation (and perhaps mine, dunno if anyone cares), and cos trolls gonna troll.
(Not so much a problem, trolls can be fun too)

My point being its going to be anything but "relaxed".
An easygoing attitude, and everyone flying cheap, will help.
But we will have to fight/compete for every square inch, and every second.

We will probably be at more risk than a low-profile corp operating in a fringe HS system somewhere.

Still, I think its worth a shot, and hopefully there are NPC corp players out there that are prepared to share the risk of the platform, inorder to help build it and get some fun/social/profit out of it as long as they cover their own asses according to Golden Rules.

If we handle it well and get really lucky, some of the trolls/antagonists might even decide there is more fun/profit in working with the platform, than against it.

Salvos, it will be less risk. The only risk I see is an awoxing scout or fc with regard to PvP.

We will be immune from all day camps around jita for example and if we keep our risk level low we will be immune from ganking. This is more a case of limiting loss until a reasonable level of trust is reached.

If there are awoxing scouts or FC's would it be worth their while leading a bunch of cheap frigs into a pipe bomb and blowing their cover? Possibly not.

Also our earning will be more secure, we will be free to do many pve missions with no bother.

Drama queen time Aaron? But I will bite.

Your memory is failing you, last time I was involved with you I kept my distance and it was my corp FC who gave up on you when you put forward a RR Drake doctrine without points or any tackle ships. In the end he just said go ahead do it if you want, but don't expect us to do it, I went as far as saying I would sit in one but of course that is me being negative.

As I said, I wish you well, but I think you will do jack...

Was this the same corp FC that lost all his battleships and then cancelled his sub because he didn't understand what a kickout station was?

This is what I mean about you and some others, youre so negative. Look at all of the forum users youve blocked as well...I actually enjoy reading their posts because they put forward a realistic perspective and dont omit facts to make their points palatable.

You purposely omitted alot from your post about my RR fleet just because i said a truth about you.

I'm seriously jumping for joy at the fact you and I will never work on anything together ever again.

Thank you all for your input there are lots of ideas to consider. This has been an interesting thread It is time to close it.

I want to contribute to making Eve fun again for those of us who struggle to find time to commit to the wonderful mechanics Eve has to offer. Eve can be a fast paced game where it is important that you are online and have the time to play in order to advance yourself and company. Lets just take it easy and explore the game calmly.

If there are any corps out there struggling with wardecs please do keep an eye out for when this goes live.

Thank you very much for the emails and posts offering support, it is great to see there are a few of us still dedicated to the cause.

Please, if there are any guys out there who can host a 24hr TS3 server contact me and we can do some business. When everything is in place I will make another thread and invite you to a channel.

Fly safe and dont take too much risk. o7

This...

"...make a confederation (not alliance) of solo corps around a system of chat channels, mailing lists, and maybe freeport citadels.
Make a text art logo and prominently display it in your members' bios. There is an ice mining group based out of Seil that does that and it's apparently it's the best defense against wardecs, awox, and corp theft that there is. They have community, identity, and plenty of fun while being functionally immune to wardecs and taxes."

Pull this together and I'll relocate.

great idea..I must say.

Only problem, this is created and aimed for/at people who feel they need a break from the corp mechanic. Just a relaxed sort of venture that promotes fun without the huge responsibility of a corp and structures and wardecs.

Corp by Chat Channel.

NPC corps, you can block individual players, awoxers, trolls.

No threat of corp theft.

All the benefit of group play and communication, minus the ability to control Sov, but who cares about that. There are what, a dozen people who essentially control all of null so it's just a pipe-dream for the 99% of the rest of us.

Organize ops, mining fleets, roaming fleets, ratting fleets...

This is the best, and really only, option to get CCP to fix the problem. 400 active wardecs? really?

CORP BY CHAT

Let's do this.

I'm with you man let's do it.

Let's accept the game mechanic exactly as it is and simply avoid it. A corp war deccing 400 other corps might be a little too excessive, perhaps a more compettative number where the deccer will have to select their targets carefully.

Thanks for your input and I hope to see you in NPC chat channels soon.

Nicolai Serkanner, why, I spent a very good first period of my Eve game time with Aaron and I had a great time, and while we may have developed differences I still like and respect him, we had some stonking fights and a lot of fun in Hub Zero, and I have very fond memories of that period.

So in a nut shell, good luck Aaron.

You should definitely recruit Dracvlad. His intelligence gathering skills and knowledge about the inner workings of the big alliances are unheard of.

He famously uncovered the hidden money link between Goons and CODE., something even high ranking CODE. members where surprised about.

Hello,

Ok, so it looks as if our voice server is sorted it will be Discord. You will be able to verify that myself or any other admin will not be able to see your IP address or any other personal details.

I'm a little concerned about security (spies/awoxers) and I don't think we can stop them. A keen and determined spy will be able to appear normal until a crucial moment where there are serious assets or isk on the line, we know this to be true based on the stories we have all heard.

If we do PVP and use frigates in big numbers then our opponents most logical way of killing us all will be a pipe bomb. for those of you that dont know a pipe bomb is a fleet of pilots fitted with a specific type of smart bomb where they are also tanked heavily against the damage the pipe bomb does. They will all start smart bombing at the same time any ship nearby and not tanked against the specific damage will die quickly with no opportunity to do anything.

The only way they can set us up for a pipe bomb is if an awoxing scout jumps us into a system where the pipe bombers are set up OR the pipe bombers scout and cyno guy wait for our scout to clear the system and then they light a cyno on our destination gate and bring in the pipe bombers for us to warp into.

We can avoid the first scenario by ensuring we know the guys who scout on our pvp ops. the second scenario we can avoid by moving slowly through low sec and creating bookmarks for us to warp to between gates. If we deviate from these play styles then we are at risk from pipe bombs.

Win or Lose lets just get some fun out of Eve, Lets not get too frustrated even if this doesnt work out. Lets all keep a cool head and keep disagreements respectful and adult like.

HI,

This is 100% going ahead soon. I'm writing out a document that details some general info and guidelines, I will make it available as soon as its finished. There's no real rules... we must all make an effort to be respectful to each other and accept that different people have a different level of understanding of Eve. Generally try to be patient and calm, many of us will make mistakes, as long as we learn from our mistakes and adapt then there should be no problems, lets just go easy on each other.

Regarding recruitment....If this goes well we may have lots of new and experienced players chillin with us. please bear in mind that if people are part of this then it is most likely because they are tired of the corp mechanic and want a break from it so having recruiters spamming chat channels may not be a good idea.

Hopefully this will give us a better perspective of whats going on because we will be looking at the player corp mechanics without being part of it. Perhaps a long way down the line the community could create a corp and vote in a CEO, most importantly we will simply gather under NPC to spread knowledge and really enjoy Eve without the huge responsibility of corps and structures etc.

If you've got info on how to prevent ganks by all means announce it here and then come on our voice and chat channels to spread your wisdom.

Chat soon.
