I play another game, and they allow people to purchase their country's flags, and put it on their stuff; vehicles, their clothing, and buildings. This is a revenue, potential revenue, for you.

This is probably one of the better ideas you've had lately. On that note however CCP has been hinting at player driven ship skins in a similar manner to player made corp banners meaning we'll likely be getting them at some point. This does however reflect on in game groups not actual out of game nations and such, though if you as a player liked the idea of a skin based off that I'm sure you could submit your own once it's available.

I'd like to keep nationalism out of a game set 10000 years in the future with only genetic relation to earth, however if this is implemented I'd also like to see religious symbols, rediculous advertisement of 732 genders so that no one misgenders another, corporate logos from ye olde earth, and possibly unicode smiles.

Or we could have an uploadable small picture for a fee, because I would love to have a dickbutt flag on my Nyx.

Or we could not have anything of the sort and just play the game.

Get some Eve. Make it yours.

20000 pretty sure.
Earth is long dead.

Mini rant:
This just opens up the game to decals and liveries and more out of place Microtransactions in a game that is ALREADY paid for with subscriptions which still boggles my mind after years.
I dont want ships flying around looking like nascars covered in random doo dads to show the flyer is a unique snowflake.

But then you could revel in the fact that you got to crush that unique snowflake... over... and over... and over again.

Hooray for more bad ideas! Somebody has to have them, at least they are easy to identify if they are all coming from the same person.

No. EVE is technically a roleplaying game. Tried thinking of a worse example to mock you with, couldn't. It's completely inconsistent with the setting and adds nothing to the narrative.

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.

It's a game. It's certainly not real life, as many of you have so astutely pointed out, but you people who play it are certainly real. I've not noticed any great attachment to staying inside its 'lore,' whenever it's convenient for you to bypass it, either.

So, if it brings the human players, behind the ever so wondrous toons, happiness, and it's not overly burdensome to implement, then by all means, implement it. They've clearly shown that they can easily skin ships, so...

It's a game, folks, you're supposed to have fun, but more importantly, you're supposed to let him have fun, too, even if it's not what you would consider fun. Don't want a Canadian flag on your ship to honor Justin Bieber or whatever? Here's a great idea. Don't put one on?

Our characters don't even know for certain that Earth is a thing, let alone countries that existed >20,000 years ago.

So no from me. Totally Lore breaking.

Pretty sure this is the first idea I've seen you post that isn't complete ****... it's still a bad one. But at least has a sliver of merit. Are you sure it's actually yours?

The less references to our world in EVE, the better. Earth is a long distant memory in New Eden, it would bum me out if I saw a massive Canadian flag fly by.

Yeah, because every a**hat and his dog will be flying around with a Swastika...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.
