Recently noticed some new Aura voice updates, such as;

"to give the command to a drone requires you to have an active target"

This recording sounds like it was done using terrible text-to-speech software.

Now don't get me wrong, I completely understand CCP's need to redo the Aura voice (tie in with the NPE Aura dialogue)
but it almost feels like every Aura voice recording was voiced by a different voice-actress, or maybe CCP just recorded individual words and splice them together to make a sentence. Not to mention there also seems to be a number of grammatical errors.

Another big issue I find with the new recordings are the emphasis seems to be put on wrong words in a sentence.

In any sense, Aura has lost the warm, realistic feel that kept us calm as we warped our ships to impending doom.

As I like to refer to it;
Old Aura = "Warp Drive Active, you're probably going to die but it will be glorious!"
New Aura = "Warp Drive Active, Have a nice day."

"A lifetime of conflict had left her worn and aged beyond her years"
"Her metallic, worn voice was perfect for the task of voice-overs for the AI on capsuleer ships. The immortal Aura was born"

I'm not saying that CCP should revert back to the old Aura, i'm asking for some kind of consistency across all the recordings, as well as a more 'human feel' to the voice.

Well better late than never I suppose but really, where have you been?

The new Aura voice-over was discussed ad nauseum when it was rolled out to Sisi and then to much wailing and gnashing of teeth when it appeared on TQ.

We all told CCP that the new voice was bad, not clear and decidedly grating but like a lot of things you get used to it after a while and I must confess I don't even notice it now. That may be through familiarity, or it could be because CCP have tweaked it to alleviate some of the problems. They certainly did with the grammar in "Docking request accepted."

Live with it and it'll soon disappear into the background.

Oh finally, the same voice actor was supposedly used in both the original and new sessions. Doesn't so like it to me though.

As for "...a more 'human feel' to the voice." Aura's an AI, not a human so in my view that's more realistic.

This is the least important thing in this game you could be complaining about.

Wait! What?! That is why Aura voice is f***** up? Because of some dialogs in NPE?

I was actually there from Day 1 talking about it, I only decided to bring it up again after hearing the new DRONE COMMAND dialogue.

I do agree that the new voice can grow on you, but this piece of voice just screams 'half-assed', hence my final comment; "i'm asking for some kind of consistency across all the recordings"

Aura was a person before she voiced the AI used on capsuleer ships.

Eve Online is set waaaay beyond the days of Siri or Cortana, I dont think the our current idea of AI applies.

I loved the old Aura but it's very possible that the person who originally did the lines is not with the company anymore, or simply not in a position to take on the job.

By coincidence the chronicle linked is also one of my favorite chronicles in audio format, so if people don't like to read you might enjoy listening to it instead Big smile
