What does one do when once previous profitable margin of a item, becomes extremely tight causing very little to no profit to be gained?

What can I do about said item? Buy all the sell orders? Continue buying/selling? What do?

edito: I feel a fool for not noticing the market discussion forum

The only applicable choice is to ask questions like yours in the EVE Market Discussion forum area.

There's a million angry citizens looking down their tubes..at me.

^

pretty much common sense.

learn to read the market too, so you don't end up with massive stocks of a now useless item. or just stay as liquid as possible at all times.

I can only suggest you put some money in the meter and turn the light on

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

Then I question, how these items have large margins to begin with, when the item has been in stock for a large period of time, or is it because I am working the item towards a tighter margin by contently undercutting other traders even by .01 isk?

diversify in product and geography, while realizing that it's not just modules that cycle in this game.

stop undercutting people by change and start buying and relisting their **** when they undercut you.

just dont do this with items that have a tiny profit margin, because then you're basically wasting your time. also, don't wait for profits to improve - just switch over to something else.
