A FPS idea for inside strutures

I have an idea that I think can be added to the game without massively affecting game play or balancing.
The basic idea is to create a first person shooter with a few boards to play on that can be used by players to
board and conquer citadels. I don't really care how its done, I'm sure there are plenty of ideas out there, but the one I
came up with was this. Once the citadel hits 0% structure they become invulnerable for certain amount of time and during this
time a self destruct timer starts and once it counts down, it blows up like it normally would. The attacking
force we have to launch clone pods at the citadel, board and stop the count down before it can be taken. Once the
the countdown is stopped they can then try to take certain points that will eventually take control of the station.
The clone pod idea is for ships like freighter or a new kinda of ship, i don't care, that will hold a kind
of clone bay that can be launch at structures. The bay will hold a set amount clones that will act as "lives" for
attacking players to use. If you have 10 player fighting and the pod has 1000 clones then the ten players can
die 1000 times before there is no more re spawn or more pods are launched to be used. The defending force can have
unlimited clones but the spawn points could be taken so that players stop spawning in that area giving players an end game.
Having an attacking force take a citadel and make it there own sounds really fun but I've been trying to come up
with a reason why anyone would want to defend one since the only thing winning gets you is for the self destruct timer
to be reactivated and it blows up anyways (which needs to be the case imo). So even though this won't be very popular
the only way to make it worth while is for everything on the citadel be open to looting once it is taken. This will
give people a reason to fight for it even though it will be lost cause at least then they can pick their stuff up.
I was also thinking that you will probably need some sorta network for players to upload to for access to these clones
weather defending or attacking. It could be put in high sec for anyone to be part of and just have alliances pay players
a set amount to fight for their team or you could have ships that hold players who will be fighting maybe on the same ships
that carry's the clone bays, defending forces could always be in the citadel, i don't care.
I hope I explained my idea in a way for it to be easily understood without writing a novel. They idea is wide open
and I don't care one bit if its changed, modified or scraped. I really enjoy playing the game and I think with today's technology
something like this could be done without it being a optimizing nightmare or having massive lag issues (though i could be wrong).
If it goes well, It could be branched over into player trying to forcibly take super capitals (oh the tears) or even an in-game planetary battle where we fight over sections of planets. Like I said, It wide open.. feel free to build on it.

"If you have 10 player fighting and the pod has 1000 clones then the ten players can

It's always funny when you see that, someone who thinks that their idea is new and never before seen when the same idea has been floated (and tried in various ways, and failed) since before the game hit alpha.. Extra marks for being in the exact wrong forum section too.

There's a reason CCP have stopped integrating their other Eve universe properties into the game proper.

People in space don't want to play an FPS, they want to play Eve. They also don't want to have some significant part of their game experience dependent on something they have no control over.

In short this is a pretty terrible idea for something to add to Eve. Also the idea that this has no significant impact on the rest of the game is laughable. The ability to take a Citadel, whole and intact, would be *huge* and have massive ramifications for attack, defense, the markets, and the Eve economy.

Dust 514 failed because the Devs. they said when they were announcing no more dust "Programming is Hard."

One of them being PS exclusive, so most of us couldn't even try it?
I wonder if Valkyrie will be better, or it will fail for the same reason?

If you want an intelligent argument, please do, I'm up for it!

But if you want a trolling contest, I will win it by simply not participating.

NO.

We play space ships games here, not capture the structure FPS games.
If you want a spot then destroy what is there using space ships and then put up your own.

Seems like an odd system but i like the idea.
It's kind of dumb though that defenders would be trying to prevent the self destruct disarmed. I would say do damage until it hits less than 1-5% structure and the citadel is rendered inoperative maybe if it isn't already.
Deal the damage to destroy it as normal, or the high risk scenario would be the dust style Mercs, you can invade it once its in this
Knocked out state, but if you lose and the defenders win it would get another small reinforcement window making it unkillable,
You wanna knock it out go ahead and kill it, if youre greedy and wanna try and flip it for yourself you run the risk of prolonging the battle for a bit longer. Seems better than fighting to ensure it blows up. Fight to keep it alive in your control if you defend it at all.

You would save money and time as an attack by capturing it and changing ownership.
Like flipping a district if they can get rid of the exploits that were there in dust.

Haven't seen your name in a long time. I messaged you from dust a few years ago lol.
But yeah Shanghai team was pretty much useless and they kept firing and changing leads. They only ever got anything done when the Iceland guys flew out once a year or so. They should have fired everyone in Shanghai. Game would probably still ve around if they had the atlanta guys I think it was doing it instead of that dumb world of darkness game. They wasted all that money and none of it went to dust when dust had better chances if done correctly.

But there will be at least 20 people that can buy that helmet thingy.

Eve Minions is recruiting.
