That sounds like the client started but it crashed into a nearby windmill.
Try again at a later date? Pirate

Try this:

In the launcher, go to the E menu in the upper right (next to the minimize icon.) Choose "Shared Cache..." and click "Verify" in that menu. Let it run to completion and then try again.

If that doesn't work, go back to that window, and next to the path to the Shared Cache, click "Show in Explorer." In that window, find the folder called "tq" and trash it. Then give it another try. (This will result in a small download but it won't be anything like re-downloading the client.)

If neither of these work, launch the LogLite diagnostic tool ("Start LogLite") from that same "E" menu and launch one more time. When it crashes, save your log to a file and then submit a bug here with that file attached. Take the EBR- number and post it here.

Hope that helps.

Same thing has happened to me since this morning's patch. I naturally thought it was the game.

Your listener programme actually helped a lot. An invalid display adaptor was found - turned out that my laptop suddenly decided that it wanted to use an Intel display adaptor instead of the real one.
