So Here I have a dead end system with not many anoms, practically no traffic. There is a person with 3 accounts in 3 systems sitting around 24/7 for about 4 months now without end, only reason being the corp i'm in even if the few around have actually left.

SO the deal is if you decide to rat or haul you will be accosted by a force recon and the 2 other alts, if he can't kill you without risk you will receive a blops drop from the assholes next door. If he does lose a ship it will be replaced by plex, so no pve to kill.

I know the awnser to deal with it is either a whole bunch of friends or money for alts, but when the awnser is spend money I tend to lean the opposite direction.

I'm simply here to hear some oppinions on what the awnser is to deal with this. To reiterate, it's an afk cloaker with 3 accounts and a blops drop. Answers besides "bait him" on how it can be dealt with.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

Try bait ships

Then have the boys come in and kill.

mix and match them so that sometimes its a normal ship (ie cheap) and sometimes a bait ship

The first one will definately work as you sound like a nullbear grinding isk and he wont be expecting it.

I don't have the friends for that to work, and it'd have to be cyno. So yes it is null.

Well, he has the friends he needs. So your solution is to find friends. Alternatively, you could probably pay a bunch of mercs to counter drop his BLOPS drop. But that of course involves paying them.

See, you already know how to deal with it, but you don't want to. So, you'll probably have to live with it or move out like your buddies did.

Moving out poses the same problem if someone else likes to afk cloak though, so it doesn't really solve the problem. I've been finding there is no real solution to deal with it besides baiting them. The only reason he has friends is because he left us, and joined the people we didn't like, and even then it's not like he's going to attack anyone if backup is in system or the next 2 due to his other afk cloaked alts.

Well, you are not supposed to hold a system alone, so wherever you move in, make sure to bring enough friends to defend it.

It really sucks when the people met when I was new to EVE have left. I mean look at my corp history, it's not like I havn't tried friends. it's just hard making new ones you can trust.

To be truthful

its much better when a fleet arrives in system and pounds you into the ground and its all over very quickly.

Than the slow death of a cloaker who backs up his intentions.

Either pay merc or take what you can and leave the system. It will be easier in the long run

Petition your CSM members (or CCP) to finally address this. I suspect you aren't alone with your frustration...

Thanks for the laugh.

There is already a 430 page circular discussion on AFK Cloaking here:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=397030&find=unread

The OP should just be added into that thread.

Ahh Hal. Still complaining about cloakers. Didn't you learn anything in SI-I89? Gotta work together to defeat the baddies.

There's nothing that you can do against that type of person.

Doesn't matter how many times you kill him or how many times he kills you, he will never stop for any of those reasons, unless he decides himself to go somewhere else but it's not because you kill him or he kills you.

The only thing you can do is try to ignore him/avoid him, or.. just move away to different system/corp.

And remember everyone you "try" to kill him, you are feeding his actions and motivate him to keep doing it.

You're either not trying hard enough or are just so bad at socializing. I'm no social person (I think) and I have people I can trust.

Post with your NPC alt main and not your main main alt!

If you cant beat them, join them?

Seems to me that neither of you are profiting from the current situation.

Or try cutting a deal with them for mutual benefit.

Park enough firepower to beat him at random safes, then bait him? You'd want [insert favorite ratting ship here] fitted crazy tanky (geckos), long point, and cap warfare resistance, and maybe a flight of ECM drones. Dual rep Brutix, maybe?

I'm thinking one seriously tanky hictor (hold the battleships) and maybe a rattler or two (widow can't jam out the drones, rattler can fit very tanky in case it gets the geckos' attention).

The afk system needs to be worked on and at this time if your hands arent at the key board you should be easily found even if your cloaked. Now if your hands are on the key board or mouse then your ship should keep warping to safes to not be found. Easy fix can be done here. If you afk then you should just be found and dye. But if your not afk cloaking and moving around in system then you won't be found.

I don't have a problem with people wanting to camp a system why at their key boards. I have a problem with people being able to walk away from their key board for hours on end and still being cloaked up. Were the darn risk? or reward? Only one sided here.

You could wait for CCP to introduce something that makes afk cloaky harder.
Like a new sov structure that occasionally pulses and causes people to have to recloak?
CCP might have forgotten about some of these ideas so in the meantime try to bait them into deadspace where they can't light cynos and kill them there.
