How many shares are you looking to create at the 40 million value?

Sorry if confused, there won't be any creation of shares, as that would devalue the dividends :)
10,000 shares exist. 2,000 of them are with shareholders. A future share sale would be for another 1,000 shares.

Happy New Year investors! Dividends have been paid.

December was another month, another record payout. This time over 1 million ISK per share, reaching 3.6% as monthly dividend.
Summed up payout for the month was 2.14 bn.

Only thing purchased this month was 600 corpses :)

This months dividends have just been paid.

I am still accumulating money in the museum wallet, so guess what? Yes, another record dividend, now 1.21 million per share or a neat 4.0% per month.

Total payout this moth was 2.42 bn, accumulated payout since the museum began has been 19.82 bn.

Discussion of new share sale!

According to the museum rules of governance, shareholders must approve any new share sale.
I am going to be asking the permission of the shareholders to launch a third sale of 1000 shares, and at the same time increase the value of each share from 30 to 40 million ISK. This will be the third and possibly last share sale that the museum will make!

Background:
There are 10,000 museum shares altogether
1,000 shares were sold in July 2015, for a price of 20 mil ISK each.
1,000 shares were sold in December 2015, for a price of 30 mil ISK each
8,000 shares are still with the museum. The rules of governance stipulate that 5,000 can be sold.

You can discuss or criticise the proposal here in the coming days. Stating intentions to buy shares will also be helpful for the process. Later in the month a shareholder vote will come up that will last 7 days. The share sale will begin immediately after next dividends in start of March.
Anyone can post here, you don’t have to be a shareholder.
For any additional info and discussions, you can find me in the “EVE Museum” chat channel.

Points in favor:
a) We have had a player offer exactly 40 mil ISK for shares now, apparently not with much succes
b) The museum wants this share sale for increased publicity, and also because these 40 bn will help reach the stage of buying AT ships.
c) Current shareholders will see their shares jump in face value

Points against:
Problem: A higher share value will mean relatively smaller dividends per share.
Answer: That only affects new share buyers. The actual amount of ISK you get as dividends, will not be less.

Problem: Old shareholders will immediately sell back their shares for an easy profit. This can bring the museum to its knees.
Answer: there is currently more than 30 bn isk cash in the museum, and Cista2 has a good deal of money as well, so we can handle it. And I have waited more than a year with this share sale, until I could see that the perceived value of shares has in fact grown to 40 mil.

Problem: The public liabilities of Cista2/CistaCista will grow by 40 bn isk, plus in fact 20 bn more is added on the face value of old shares. Total public liability will thus double from 60 bn to de facto 120 bn isk. This is too much unsecured money.
Answer: no good answer here. You can see my full history of unsecured bonds since 2009 summed up in this document. I have received 373 bn unsecured ISK, and paid back 402 bn ISK so far. You decide.

Other news

As an aside, after this I have plans to let the museum start making its own money, in addition to the money that are donated to it. The museum would buy and trade certain slow-selling items, for example rare SKINs. The profits would become dividends directly. This would lead to a more transparent economy for the museum compared to now, where dividend size is mainly decided by how much money I donate each month from my other character Cista2. The museum would become much more like an actual company. More about this after the upcoming share selling vote.

At the very least you don't have to worry about 50% of the shares currently in circulation being sold.

As for voting (and since I may not be in-game during the period when the shareholder vote is on), I'm just going to state here that I'm okay with the release of more shares for sale.

P.S. Can I buy the Villard Wheel off of the Museum? I lost mine years ago and I miss having it in my personal hangar.

Thank you for the positive signals so far - reassuring that Nouva will maintain that large chunk of shares.

Nouva, the villard wheel is very easy to buy on contract, I see there are contracts up for 2 million per in Jita.

I would like to buy some shares. I have 15b available and I'm willing to pay a premium on current value which I understand to be about 40m per share.
Post offers here as I don't log on to the actual game very often these days.

All fine by me , i'll refrain from buying new shares though to give others a chance to grab some.

Seeing the support from current as well as prospective shareholders, I have now opened up the suggested shareholder vote! It will run for 10 days.
You will vote on the suggestion to sell another 1,000 shares and at the same time increase the buyback value of all shares from 30 to 40 million ISK.

Edit: You vote by rightclicking your shares..

I shall not be voting, but I recommend a YES vote.
If the vote goes through, I will offer our trusty (unpaid) accountant Magnu to buy a number of shares at half price. Since I have plans to start actual business within the museum itself, I very much hope he will stay on in the coming years, to oversee the complex evolution of EVE Museum!
