Don't think it ever has happened to me.
They always seem to slip by on the side.

Your warp drive creates a strong gravitational field that folds space and lets you travel faster by taking a "shortcut" between the wrinkles of the multidimensional entity that we perceive as space.
Since Celestial bodies like suns or black holes also have a very strong gravimetric field that can even stretch time bcause of their huge mass (according to Einstein, at least) the best way to keep your warp drives gravitational field from interfering with those natural fields is to just automatically calculate a route that slightly bypasses those gravity wells.
Or you could just start a wide ranging tachyon scan, realign the Heisenberg compensators and divert energy from the phaser phalanx into the warp core.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Warping through a star can be tricky.

Its happened to me a few times before... not often.

Try warping tot he star, and seeing what is behind it. Trying from many AU away is pointless.

I see what u did thar.. lol

You can make bookmarks inside the sun!

1. Warp to the sun.
2. Make sure a celestial body is on the opposite side that you can warp to
3. Bring up your bookmarks menu
4. Warp to the celestial body on the opposite side of the sun and right as you're passing through the sun, click Save location (Take a few tries to get the right location)
5. Warp back to the bookmark
6. ???????
7. Profit !!!!

Odd things can happen around the sun.

Once i've tried scanning down a frig that sat inside or around the sun.

I probed it to 100% and warped there, only to get spit out by the sun
moving at several dozen thousand kilometers per second.

So I warped there again but at 100km distance and this time i was "above" the sun, but not even close to the frig.

i warped again ... got closer ... but still way off.

After 5-7 minutes of warping i saw the frig on my overview as i passed by.

Then i've noticed that SPACE IS CURVED ... which was kinda weird, kinda awesome to realize... *lol*

When i passed the frig for the first time and warped there again,
i didn't even notice it ... took me three or four warps until my brain realized that

i was warping forward all the time ...
... but i kept passing by the frig every time i warped !

mind. blown. boom! *lol*

After around 12 minutes of warping and being faszinated about space-time-curvature,
i managed to land at around 100km distance from the frig.

The End.

Hmmm... you know what'd be interesting?

If you approach a star at sublight speeds you begin to take damage... EM and Thermal of course. It'd make for an interesting tactic to load up on EM/Thermal resistances and escape an engagement into a star... and/or bait people very close to a star and just wait for some poor ignorant to probe you down.

Perhaps ships in asteroid belts should buff up kinetic damage seeing bumping a 'roid doesn't even scratch the paint.

I like that. Would be realisitic too, never understood how I could plop myself into the corona of a star and chill without melting.

Indeed we are gentleman. If CCP wont bring us t i t t y bars we have to warp into them.
