NO DAMAGE INDICATED ON NEOCOM AND MY SHIP WAS DESTROYED

I was battling a sleeper battleship in a wormhole and taking no damage at the time in my Tengu. I was orbiting the Sleeper BS at about 70km, with my afterburner on doing 550+km along with an invulnerability field II on. During the entire engagement the shield damage indicator on my neocom did NOT show any red at all. Nor did the armor or structure indicators. However I must have been taking damage and it wasnt being indicated since all of a sudden my ship exploded and I was floating in space in my pod.

Has anyone else experienced this happening to them?

I petitioned CCP for a reimbursement but they denied it.... of course their server logs showed nothing wrong.

Check your combat logs; Sleepers are known to have very ferocious alpha strikes and such behavior would be consistent with an instapop.

The log didn't record anything until I opened the log window... is there a setting to record everything when the log window isn't open?

I've done the same sleeper site multiple times since moving into the WH... Tanking the Battleship isn't a problem IF I know I'm taking damage. (It's a C2 WH)

Check your local log files.

They are located somewhere in My Documents\EVE\logs\Gamelogs.
Find a text file with timestamp close to your combat, and read it through.

That should confirm how much damage was done to you.

Happened to me today, doing a hisec signature site, shields show 100% all the time. Suddenly after a minute in the 2nd pocket I hear the shield warning sound while the HUD still shows 100%. Didn't have enough time to save my ship once I figured out what was happening. HUD was obviously frozen the whole time, petition is pending.

There was no lag involved as far as I could tell, everything else was running smooth, just the HUD didn't update for the whole fight.

Thats EXACTLY what happened to me... everything was moving fine, no frozen screens, modules responding smoothly... but HUD showed no damage.

I'm interested to know how your petition turns out.

As I expected reimbursement was denied which is understandable cause this has all signs of a client-side bug. The client must've generally known about the damage, otherwise the warning sounds wouldn't have worked. So it appears to be just a matter of not displaying it on the HUD correctly, which of course won't show up in server-side logs.

Yep had the same problem several times recently, cap/shield/armour/speed not updating. First was in a couple of 2v2 scraps I got into with a mate, eventually lost my BC as I thought I hadn't been primaried yet but I was actually being torn apart. Have fraps of that, petition denied ofc. Second and subsequent didnt lead to losses but again hud obviously not updating until restarting the client.

Initially suspected fraps might be involved so stopped running it but it's happened again since. Must get round to sending the vid of the first instance to QA.

My velocity indicator freezes at a random speed after a couple hours of play time (afk or not). Re-logging fixes the problem.

I have never had a chance to take damage during this time, but I bet it is closely related.

I lost a Rapier due to this very issue. Thought I was kiting around the battlefield nicely while my corpmates were being primaried. Lo and behold, out of nowhere I hear the low shields klaxon. Overview showed no hostile fire, and it showed enemies all at comfortable range. I got no indication from the neocom that I was losing shields. Neocom started updating again when I was in my pod.

Petitioned, got 'clear your cache' and 'no evidence of server issues at that time' --

I've also had my velocity indicator freeze multiple times, as well as having the overview fail to update. I've also had mods fail to activate. Since the Rapier loss I've also lost 2 frigates and nearly lost a BS due to these (seemingly related) issues.

It appears there was some sort of client/UI bug introduced with Incursion. I've had numerous glitches with regards to "warping" as have alliancemates. Some of the bloggers are experiencing this as well. As usual, petitions denied since their logs show nothing.

I had the same issue. I was taking damage during a level three mission (Blockade, Serpentis) and noticed that I was taking very little damage on my shields during the second spawn (in fact, it was slowly regenerating damage from the first spawn). I heard the hull damage audio indicator and warped away just to be safe. After docking and re-emerging from station, the HUD now revealed the extent of the damage I received.

I filed a petition. At least now we know that the problem is not assocaited specifically with a mission site or location; it occurs in a variety of different locations and situations.

I have had the same thing. But damage does indeed show.

The problem was that I couldn't tell if I were escapting or not. But damage did show when the m/s reading was stuck.

edit. When I had this issue, I was ratting around an asteroid belt and wasn't in mission space at all.

There's a bug that started happening with the whole UI backend changes where the HUD will stop updating. Velocity, cycle timers etc will be delayed/frozen and lagged out even if the system is fine. Good luck bug reporting it, the bug hunters have the same line as the GMs, i.e. The logs show nothing.

I have had this problem several times aswell, I reported it in Incarna 1.1.1 issues thread. Im guessing the original posters problem is related.

Still having these issues as are alliancemates. Sometimes its the "Warping" problem, other times its the entire hud freezing. When the entire hud freezes it seems like you have to log out and log back in to really clear it.
