Write for the EVE Tribune

I'm gonna keep on plugging that phrase because I like it. I almost changed it to "Share your EVEsperience, write for the EVE Tribune". And sure it's a bit funny, building on the "EVE is real" slogan and so, but it's a it over the top really.

Write for the EVE Tribune

For those who don't know it the EVE Tribune is the longest running EVE Online eZine. We've been around since 2005-ish and until today we've published over 200 issues with articles spanning from news and pvp guides to philosophy, with a pinch of cookery in it. An unknown number of writers have shared their EVE Online experience with thousands upon thousand of readers.

So are you a writer? Or a sharer? Would you like your words to be read by thousands of people? Send me a mail at recruiting@eve-tribune.com and tell a bit of yourself. Who are you, what's your EVE experience, and what would you like to write about.

See you at the Tribune

Hi. I'm a journalist - trained and experienced. I've even worked for the Associated Press, San Francisco bureau. Now, I'm a novelist. In fact, at present I'm working on a new novel while my other manuscripts collect pink slips. Add poetry to this mix and you've got it; poetic, novel-writing journalist. What a mix!

As you can tell from the above paragraph, I've got a pretty good handle on this writing thing. It's punctuated correctly. There's no dangling participles, or split infinitives. In fact, technically speaking, it's a good, sound chunk of text! What I'd ask you in return is, what do you pay? Can you really afford me? Will you have some editor with a slim grasp of language overseeing my work? Will I be finding well-placed commas disappearing left and right?

Come on bud. You've got a LOT to answer for before I volunteer my talents to you only to be rejected for some arbitrary and inane reason only your staff can devise!

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Just can't slip one past you, can I? I'll have you know I'm growing accustomed to your face, too. As a result I've scheduled myself for some very intense therapy sessions.

Yes we have an editor. Or editors really. A bunch of nice people who all have English as their native language and are pretty good at it. They will leave you commas and only change things if they really have to.

If you feel you lack the ideas to write about I have a lot of those. Some of those are even sane. And if you want to bounce ideas I'm a natural insomnia who always stay awake all too late.

Our regular payment is 50m ISK for the first two pages (รก 500 words) and then 20m ISK per page for the next three pages. But there's also bonuses to be made for a good job, extensive fact checking, or just plain dull research. I have as a personal rule that the less I want to do something, the more I will pay you to do it. This week in CAOD as an example, comes with a bonus built in just so I don't have to go there.

I started writing for the Eve Tribune a couple months after I started playing. It's a good bunch of guys and gals to write alongside and the creative freedom is quite nice. In my writing for the Trib I have never once felt pressured to write about anything other than what I want to. It creates an interesting opportunity to share your passion or curiosity with the reader base and a constructive environment to do so. I recommend joining the group to any prospective or established writers.

Abyssum says it best Big smile

Not only is it a great outlet when you get the writing bug or have something profound (or lighthearted) to say about the game, but you are rewarded with ISK which is very tasty icing on the cake.

Mr M is a marvel and example to us all. You will enjoy working with him at the helm.
He absolutely did not pay me to say that Smile

Kirith Kodachi of long running blog Inner Sanctum of the Ninveah and podcast Broadcasts from the Ninveah is currently the editor and a darn fine one too.

My Eve experience:

I met Eve at a strip joint last year and watched her get naked. I asked her on a date and she said

"Get lost you fat f@ggot"....

your thred seems stupid n i hate yu

I'd also quite like to be a cynical journalist, but I'm not much of a cynic. Maybe I should focus on a "lighter side" branch of writing...

"Which leads us to our 'On the Lighter Side' story... Today, a goon pilot exploded a Mackinaw. Again. Pubbie tears were shed, and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all." Something like that.

Ooooooh, your offer is now tempting. I wonder if I can get "PRESS" painted on the side of my ship in HUGE luminescent orange paint? (I wonder if anyone would bother to appreciate that before they fire....I wonder if everyone can READ!)

So...is this job dangerous?

I wrote a bit when I started playing, took a hiatus, and am back again and doing some more writing for the Trib. All in all it is fun, doesn't take too much time, and is ISK in my pocket. Works for me!

I'm a loser with an opinion and flawless literacy skills.

No, seriously, that's my application...

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.
