So the sisters arc has just become available for me to run a second time and I'd like some tips on how to burn through it, basically just for the rep. Last time I did it all in my algos (100% solo) and now I've tech 2 small hybrid weapons/small drones and up-skilled up to battleships (even have a fitted domi). So other than what's available on EVE-survival and EVE University has anyone got any good tips on how to blast through the arc quick enough to make it really worth-while?

"Quick enough to make it really worthwhile" - highly subjective, so hard to answer.

I just did it for the second time this week. Wasn't trying to min/max anything, and still don't have awesome skills, but certainly much better than the first time, when my char was 2 weeks old :)

I just went with a Corax (I'm a Caldari with more missile skills. Just shy of 9M SP now):

[Corax, Corax fit]

Ballistic Control System II

Limited Adaptive Invulnerability Field I
Upgraded Kinetic Deflection Amplifier I

Inherent Implants 'Squire' Capacitor Management EM-803
Zainou 'Deadeye' Target Navigation Prediction TN-903
Zainou 'Deadeye' Rapid Launch RL-1003

The whole arc was beyond easy. Headed out with 5000 of each type of CN rocket (20K ammo total). Wound up using about 3000 of the Scourge CN rockets. Also carried two extra shield amps, to cover all 4 types. Wound up having enough room in hold to carry back all of the loot generated in the arc. I didn't salvage anything. Only change I would make next time is to use a MWD instead of AB, to close with rats faster, and to loot faster.

Total time for 50 missions, including all travel, was about 6 hours. And I wasn't trying to go fast. So extrapolate for how you would fit your favorite ship, whether you would bother looting, and how fast you could warp (travel time). And then decide if it's worth it.

Tat

PS - one other thing I might change next time is to ungroup the weapons a bit. This fit shows 192 DPS in Pyfa, and a LOT of ships in the missions were easily one shot, so I might ungroup, and shoot at multiple targets at once, I think it would speed it up.

A destroyer is probably the way to do it, the rats are pretty pathetic. I ran the sisters arc with a malediction and the mission with the BC took too many navy rockets running two navy bcus and a damage rig. All the others are cake and don't take much dps to complete. The missions requiring cargo capacity are usually doable with cargo expanders, so carry some; all of the agent stations offer refitting.

Just about any destroyer should be good. If you want extra mobility, a sabre or cynnabal would be the obvious choices.

Which faction you getting points with this time?

a frig with t2 guns should rip through the whole thing pretty quick. Most of the time would be spent traveling between agents/missions so sticking to a smaller ship makes sense for the quicker warp speed.

The last time I ran it I think I used something very close to this:

[Hecate, quick runner]

Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Magnetic Field Stabilizer II
Small Armor Repairer II
Adaptive Nano Plating II

5MN Microwarpdrive II
Tracking Computer II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Cap Recharger II

150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
150mm Railgun II, Federation Navy Antimatter Charge S
Core Probe Launcher II

Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II
Small Ancillary Current Router II
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II

I probably threw on some sort of deadspace stuff I had floating around but this is the T2 version. HVOs make the whole thing much, much faster given the amount of travel.

IIRC a Confessor did it faster, and I'm pretty sure this was my exact fit:

[Confessor, test]

Coreli B-Type Small Armor Repairer
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Heat Sink II
Centii C-Type Adaptive Nano Plating

5MN Microwarpdrive II
Tracking Computer II
Dark Blood Cap Recharger

Small Focused Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Small Focused Beam Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency S
Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Sisters Core Scanner Probe
[Empty High slot]

Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II
Small Hyperspatial Velocity Optimizer II
Small Capacitor Control Circuit II

Same idea, as you can see.

I think i did it on combat interceptor last time, if you lack dps for dagan and friend, you could always have something beefier parked at the Sisters station. Nowdays T3Ds will make whole thing cakewalk if you can fly those.

If you cant fly the t2/t3 stuff, do the start in combat frigate, and reship to dessy or something for the last fights.

when the mission is done, some can be completed remotely. consider doing that ;)

I used a Taranis interceptor last time I ran the epic arc on my Gallente station trader. It warps at 12 AU/s. I changed to blasters for Dagan.

Last time I raced through it with a main I used a Talwar and flew around looking like a fireworks factory on fire. I had the Fleet Phoon on standby for Dagan because I was in a hurry. For speed, take something that warps fast, because ultimately it'll all be warp time.

Burning Down the Hive, Chasing Shadows, and Dagan are the only times you'll need to pay attetnion.

I suppose if I were to go today I'd take T3 Destroyer.

Confessor is my favorite ship to use. If char doesn't have the skills for that I use an Astero.

Mainly a ship you feel safe using auto-pilot to move across the map.

I did it with a Daredevil. Most of the missions are courier type, and the little rogue drone gets it done in style.

I'd recommend a beam Confessor. Excellent projection means you can start clearing npcs that much faster and using t1 crystals means you never run out of ammo. Add excellent cargo space and decent slot layout and you're set. Oh,and it's also decently fast on and off grid. Equip with hyperspatial rigs to taste.

Just do the arc in your Algos again, upgrade the weapons and fittings to your new skill levels. That ship is perfectly capable of doing the SOE arc. All the other choices presented really are not much of an improvement other than the warp speed increase that a frigate class has, or the enjoyment of one-shotting most of the NPC.

You can simply leave the Algos sitting in the station in Arnon. Then just fly whatever is fast over to Arnon whenever the mission arc becomes available.

I can do all but Dagan in ships like a corax with autotarget missiles or an algos fairly fast in around 3 hrs. I now do them in my stratios in about the same amount of time and don't worry about shooting anything at all, just deploy drones and fly into the clouds, scoop and warp away

Nobody mentioned yet, but Jackdaw does great. Can't remember exact fit I have, but it was along the lines of MWD, em ward field, small booster (prolly meta IV), sebo, 2 x missile tracking thingy for mids, ballistics in lowslots and light missile launcher along with passive targeter (no need to run it, just use it for extra lock targets) in high slots. For rigs it is combination of friction nozzles and warp speed rigs

DPS is fine, range is superb, like 70km, so you can start killing stuff as soon as you land on grid. If you need to pick up objective MWD has more then enough speed and when you travel between systems this thing has like 2 seconds align time while in prop mode.

Depending on skills, might need overheat on Dagan to kill him

I just did mine in a dragoon with tech 1 lasers. Drones do almost 150 dps on their own and guns gave another 80 dps. I omni tanked it and brought acolyte, hobs, and warriors to cover each area of space i was traveling. Took me about 2 hours to blitz it doing the bare minimum mission requirements and remote completion and accepts. The longest missions are distribution 3 i believe and hacking. I have ran the SOE epic arc about 9 times at this point and know it pretty well. Warp speed mods in the rigs or lows helps greatly as most of the arc is traveling.

Tips:
1. always try to complete remotely and accept remotely this save invaluable amounts of back and forth time.
2. Light drones do the best for this arc as you will be fighting mostly frigs with the exception of 3 missions where you fight destroyers / crusiers.
3. warp speed is the most desirable stat to complete this quickly. I have an ascendancy set on a jump clone for incursions already so im always 4 au or above.
4. the only module you have to have on your ship is a civilian data analyzer for the one hacking mission. Either leave a mid open for a quick fit or just drop a mid when you get the mission it isn't a huge time sink.
5. Choose the first mission you get when the story first splits there are only two times this happens once for the drone queen or the other one and once for choosing your factional standing. The drone queen takes the least amount of time because of remote completions and accepts and they are kill missions within 2 jumps of each other.
6. Do not waste time killing everything, leave the conversation window open with your epic arc agent so you know when each one completes.
7. DO NOT FORGET TO LOOT PEOPLE OR MISSIONS ITEMS! i goofed twice on my last run and left a reports in jet cans that i was supposed to loot.
8. Having your social skill up as high as possible means you get the max benefit out of running the epic arc. 7-8.75% standing gain based on social skills.

The bonus to running the arc is that you get standing gains without suffering any losses and can be repeated once every three months. Alternatively you can run story line missions for a corp of the faction you are trying to raise standing with. And yes a destroyer can go into any zone and is probably the fastest ship to use blitzing the arc.

I leave an AF in the system to finish the last fight and do everything else in an interceptor to speed it up.
